I was out with the Muzzy this morning into mid day, saw nothing. Now I'm in the blind with the crossbow for the last 2hrs of VT's hunting season. It's not over till its over.

Snowing and windy. Come on hungry deer!

Well I wanted to get another stand up but there is going to be to much trimming involved so I left my steps and stand at the base of that tree for another day.

Wind is in my face. I have a good view of the field. Should get some good intel and do no harm at the very least.

Nope. Didn't take it as a jab at all.
I know you retirees don't have to "work" much unless you want too.
I had to gather up a bunch of wood I cut yesterday before the snow buried it.
Got that all picked up and now we've spent most of the day shoveling and plowing snow.

Supposed to get above freezing Thursday and Friday. Hoping the snow makes it until Friday, will make the sled essier to pull when I kill something.

Will be Dec. 20th which is the latest I have seen a mature buck from stand.

Was snow for my first buck, maybe snow will be my lucky charm again. Still haven't shaved the buck beard either.

Best sit of the season. Multiple shooters in the field. My #1 at 50 yards. Slipped out feeling pretty good.

Total sightings for me for both sits today was one little doe/button buck/I have no idea what it was.

I never got cold but I'm exhausted.

It's supposed to snow all day tomorrow so I'm going to sleep in, move my stands midday and then hit it again Tuesday morning.

One day of sitting while it's snowing was enough for me. What I've always wanted was to hunt with snow on the ground, not sit in it while it's coming down. That sucks if you're not in a blind.

Man skunked tonight. Went into a new area blind. A lot of human sign and about month old rubs everywhere. Nothing fresh but we were getting pounded with snow and sleet. If anything I’ve got another good area on the map for next year

Thought this was cool. Someone on a facebook group I follow posted a video a guy made saying how he seen someone bringing deer in like this and asked about it.

They use the rear legs to form a locked in handle.

Basically, where you slit the rear leg for the tag or to hang from a gambrel, you stick the hoof from the opposite leg through it and use that lower leg bone as the hook. Won't have the tines ttying to dig in or get hung up if it's a buck you're dragging out.

Took a screenshot and cropped from the video, not sure who it is and didn't want to post their likeness.

Dead Quiet Walk IN ...Until I got to an icy wooden stand. Followed a single long stride track from road to back line tracks all over from last night. Dang cold but pretty. Crow and squirrel

Nothing this a.m. Grabbed cards on way home. Had some day pics a couple of days ago. So got some chores and a bit more shoveling done. Will be back out by two. Snow due around 4.
