Justin congrats man. That's a hell of a first buck you kidding me. My first was a gnarly little 6 point. I think he scored like... 30" lol.

Suncrest. I go hard right until a great buck is down or new years eve. This weekend I'm actually gonna hit the water a little for some ducks and geese. But I'll be at it all season. Sometimes I see some great bucks late season. We are allowed to hunt over Bait in Canada. And typically they need to fatten up before winter and after the rut they lose weight. So you can catch them with there hand in the cookie jar.

Got it done this weekend during firearms. Shot a big doe Friday morning and seen a monster but no shot. Took the boy out Friday evening got to the woods around 230 i took a little nap and told him to keep watch haha. Around 345 we moved to a different area was sitting there for about 30 mins and seen a doe walking are way about 75 yards. I took a couple of shots at her but they were clean misses thank goodness. Then about 20 mins I see a deer coming the same way. I told him it’s a buck and then he started to shake so I said I’m gonna shoot him. I finally got him on the second shot. He was grinning from ear to ear it was awesome. If I was by myself I would let the buck pass but him and I have put in a lot of hours in the stand. He and I will never forget last night. IMG_2081.JPG I had to finish I’m off with the handgun.

I took another doe this weekend with the bow and let some small bucks go. It was rainy, windy, cold and miserable. Saw under 10 deer total. I usually see that in the first few hours. I did find this 50 yds from one of my stands. Pretty good find. No chewing and not broken. 66A33536-96F1-4F7B-905C-AA4E9261EF48.jpeg B6291FE7-53BF-4BFE-A660-7E249AB3C344.jpeg 4D51C77C-0FF0-4EC7-9363-5E8B6914BF39.jpeg

Meanwhile my buddy I bow hunt with took his 12 yr old son gun hunting. I told him just to use my buddy stand so he could sit with the little guy and get more visibility. He sent me this and said thanks! ED16B497-EA6F-4BB5-89BD-22AFF5CC8FE4.jpeg

Pretty sure He’s the buck I drew back on while hanging off the tree by my lineman belt and had to let walk cause it was just a bad shot. Bittersweet but I wasn’t anywhere close to there anyway so I’m glad he got him

How much time does everyone have left? Gun season is open until the 8th of December I believe then muzzle loader and archery comes back in for another week here in NY.

How’s everyone doing? We still have about 6-7 weeks left in Illinois. I’m not giving up yet. Will try to find some late season food to key in on in the next few weeks

I’m still grinding! In the tree right now, I’m going as much as possible. Still have good bucks on cam and hanging around, I went up camp for gun opener and back home the nephew of the prop owners where I hunt saw a giant 10 point doggin a doe right under my stand. Hahha such is life, if I woulda stayed home I doubt he would have been under my tree. I also shot at a big 10 up camp and hit a branch! Only a matter of time before I connect the dots, keep at it fellas!
