The spike was all I saw.

I got down and moved my stand to the other side of where thebbucks walked yesterday afternoon.

It's supposed to start storming soon. If it stops in time I'll give it a try this afternoon.

those are badass for one guy. My buddy bought a 6x15 Wolfpack. Has 3 beds but 2 guys with hunting gear is tight. We had a blast and stayed warm. Even had a shower stall we converted to an Ozone closet!

Seen a lot of deer so far today. 2 bucks a spike, and the small 7/8 pt. Neighbor shot him . So much for passing him in archery season.

I'm still up in a tree, all day sit. I'm trying to.

Been slow since 1000 am. Only 2 shots rang out close by. Saw the neighbor dragging the 7/8 pt

Yes, it's looking good. Cleared a couple lanes on the way out this morning. Good shooting lanes 0-35yds. And yes it's pretty thick in some spots and I wont have a shot, will have to be patient.

Just figuring out this farm.i will probably set a second stand 100yds West of this one and then a third stand about 350yds north west of this one. I'll have three sets for different winds and so I dont burn out the stands.

Anybody have any cell cam advice, looking to buy one? Know nothing about them. Dont want to have to pay a monthly fee, if that's even possible.

The guys on I know use the Stealth Cam version. Not many complaints. Monthly plan though.

Weather says wind out of the NW at 4mph, which is good. Basically anything out of the N, NW, W, SW are good. S, SE, E are bad. Just had a SE guest, Grrrr. But it's back out of the W now.

Despite everything conditions wise working against me I’m out here. Back in the blind cause I have SE wind and not enough time to hang a set where I wanted to. Falling pressure and rain. Oh well beats watching tv on the couch.

You can get a month to month plan with either Verizon or ATT with Spartan cams. I'd go with Verizon.

Mine worked pretty good until it overheated in a bear proof box on direct sunlight in August. Oops

With 2 guys in a 6x15 camper you're gonna need both ozone and a shower...

Perfect. That winter storm supposed to roll in tonight at 7 got an early and slightly warmer than forecast start....and me without rain gear.

But it's got to get better, right?

Tree rats are out this evening. Big plump ones. Should have brought a field tip. No deer yet but it's one hour till end of shooting. Hopefully they will move.

Don't despair! On Oct 12th, at around 2:00PM, I was on my into my spot and spooked this guy 20yrds from my stand! I was bummed, because I actually saw his rack and knew which one he was. I got set up, and around 4:45PM he came right by my stand again! The rest is history, as I managed to make a bad hit on him, but have since gotten another pic of him on my cam. So he's still alive, for now.
That stain on his shoulder is where I hit him. A few more inches to the left, he'd be at the taxi.

I'm back out and set up. Now I need those bucks to do what they did yesterday afternoon.
