    Jeez....

Very windy conditions will will continue through Wednesday, with southwest to west winds gusting from 45 to near 60 mph. This could result in hazardous driving conditions for holiday travelers Wednesday, particularly on north to south roadways

Plan for this afternoons hunt is quite interesting. I need to boat about 10 miles to get to the back side of a property. From there I need to get in my waders and cross about a 60 yd swamp that's about 3 to 4 feet deep. Once I cross there is a funnel with a heavy deer path. Place looks like cows walk this path. It is in very heavy cover and I am assuming beds are nearby. There is one knarly looking pine tree that I can setup my run and gun setup in. I put a camera in there when I found it a few days ago. Will hopefully have a swamp donkey on it when I get back in there and hoping he makes an appearance if said donkey exists. Will post updates as the afternoon unfolds. Best of luck everyone.

I'm wrapping up my work tasks for the week and heading out tomorrow. High wind advisory today, 45-60 mph gusts in central Oklahoma so, no I'm not getting in a treestand today but the winds lay down overnight and into tomorrow and if they have the wind direction correct it will be perfect for a stand I rarely hunt. Leaving the gun at home and opting for the bow.

Just catching up here...congrats to the killers! Drove straight through the 13 hours to get to NC Sunday and woke early yesterday to a phone call from my niece. She was hunting (gun) by herself and shot a buck. She said she felt good about the shot but said last she saw it he simply walked off. I prepared myself for a long track and longer day. Hardly any blood at impact that was dark and jelly in spots. She shoots a .243. Thank the lord that deer was dead 40 yards away! Good mountain buck that she mistook for an older buck with bigger rack but she was excited. I know it ain't a bow kill but it was a family event and I helped her gut (round clipped guts) skin and pull the straps and tenderloins and the rest went to a butcher. Good memories. I had zero phone service lol.

Good luck out there today. I'll be slow cooking venison shoulders and hanging with the family. No hunting for me this week. Just down time and helping process any more kills! The whole family is out with the orange army. 20191125_100311.jpeg
