About 30 left. Unusually quiet, not even squirrels.

This decoy would be where he walks through, in the pre dawn. It's gun season so no one decoys. This has cover and good line of site off their place above us. They are NO doe hunting allowed so it's a safe area to decoy. Also the wind is pretty good and blows up toward the Sanctuary. I have 2 options to set for that area.

Absolutely nothing for me. The wind was blowing and I setup in the wrong area.

No luck tonight. Had a little forky come within 15 yds and nibble on some berries right in front of us with my son thought was cool. Also had a little bobcat walk right under us. Any time in the deer woods with one of my boys is a good time though even if we don’t kill something. :o

Sounds like a fun time! It's always nice to at least see something.

    .

The decoy wont keep him around long. If he passes by in the dark, I probably wouldn't use it.

I'd use her to bring her in from some distance during daylight.

Nothing for me. Duck season started yesterday. I think the duck club on private to my south made the deer nocturnal. They were shooting about 500 yards from me. I think I need to find a new bedding area further from gun season and duck properties.

So nothing but a button buck killed on the property this weekend.

Confidence level for Thanksgiving morning/weekend: 7

One of the guys seen 2 8 pointers yesterday around noon, opted not to shoot.

Hoping to be solo out there thursday. Might pass a doe early on in hopes for a buck.

True but I did have him come off that property one afternoon. Unfortunately he was just a flash and I ended up spooking him out of garden on the way home from hunt. I'm hoping to catch him up in the sanctuary around then again. I also spotted him coming off our place on far side one morning under tower blind. During archery.
We have a warm up next 3 days and a total wind change .it could change his routine.
If nothing else, he's smart enough to make it another year and blow up.

Buddy of mine shot a nice buck right at dark tonight w a 20 ga. Couldn't find any blood bit swears he mule kicked. He has to work tomorrow but I'm off. Told him I will go and see if I can find him. Going to be tough to say the least as he was in a CRP field.
Will take my bow and hope for the best. Will bring you all along if I make any progress

CRP field might be a good thing. If he was hit, he will bleed.

Good luck on the search, look high and low on that grass/weed. Once found blood should be somewhat easy to follow.

I'm out with ya littlechief. Wind seems like it's coming from every direction. Sitting on the edge of bedding.
