    I'm all set up.

Behold "my" valley in Mark Twain National Forest.

I am facing a big ridge. I have two points hat come down on my left and another point that comes down on my right.

It's a deer killing spot for sure.

I couldn't help but notice that every camper has left the area.

Also, I noticed that the scrapes down here are still being worked.

It is so quiet and peaceful here now and the pics don't do it justice. The view is gorgeous.

Found one scrape on my way in that had been freshened up since the rain on Friday. They have been in here recently.

Sons out there giving it a shot, I hope he tags him.
If not ..I could still use your thoughts on to decoy or not...

A hawk just nailed a mouse five yards from me. I hope his successful hunt is a good omen for me.

Headed out with my 10 yr old. Running a little behind due to catching up on a couple honey do’s at the house. If I can keep the Mrs happy, I don’t catch near the heat about my hunting obsession! Lol
Good luck PM shift! I’ll check back in once we are up and settled.

For me less is more. I don't like using any scents, decoys or I rarely call at them. Not enough good experience to justify using them. But might be different for the deer your hunting. If alot of pressure there, your deer my have heard and seen it all. Buck goes from point A to point B, best and setup in between them.

Scouting tonight. Sitting in truck, correcting tests, while watching over the north end of this field. Saw a doe so far. 1 hour until dark.

About 90 minutes left. Nothing yet, surprising, there were bucks locked down on does in here this time last year.

Bucks are more interested in does right now, so if you want - use the doe decoy. Put out a lot of doe in estrous. Hopefully he sees and smells a doe and then comes in to check it out. Decoy only will help if it's out in the open. If wooded or thick...no need for decoy, just scent.

There's 3 more does to my east.

13 so far, all doe and scraggly bucks. Only had shot on one doe but I’m not wanting to end the day yet. There was a 6 doe parade, it was awesome

Well we’re in the stand finally. Bumped a small buck that was bedded 30 yds from our stand. He was kind enough to hang around and blow at us for a good 5 min...
