    I hope so too, because I saw VERY little of the first rut! Tonight was my third sit in a row without seeing a single deer. Well, it's almost Sixers time! :tu:

    I ended up seeing seven deer.

    One of the disadvantages of hunting so close to my house got me about 20 minutes before last light.

    The last two I saw were coming in just like last year: one feeding along slowly and the other hanging back, but they had crossed the road and were pretty close to the house coming my way.

    My wife was out all day doing Ozark Trail maintenance and as luck would have it that's when she turned into the drive with her brights on and when she got out to open the gate the deer bolted.

    Oh well. I keep telling myself it was just two does.

    I've hunted hard since 07 September and I've seen one chase. That was late October.

    Other than scrapes and rubs there's been almost no sign that the rut ever happened or that it's even time.
