Nice buck. Was in Tulsa a few years ago as my grandson played ball for the Drillers. Hotter than a two dollar pistol! Got to Bartlesville for the oil strike story by Mr. Phillips...interesting museum. Read that he lost as much as $40K in one night playing poker.
Thanks! He's officially the biggest Okla whitetail that anyone in my family has taken. We're all real competitive, so this could get interesting LOL.
Thank you! Yeah, we have us some heat, that's for sure. Winter can be nasty too. We get the extremes. Lucky us! Mr Phillips was quite the interesting dude. That's definitely certain. Oh, and a Driller game is one of the best ways to spend a summer night in town.
Nooooo. The blood around his eye was actually from a puddle of blood that came from his mouth. The ol' NAP Killzone ripped up his lungs pretty good and all of that blood from his mouth was a product of that. Cool story... my gf was sitting in the same blind that I shot this guy from. It's her first season of hunting. This guy walked past her about a week before I took him. She sent a bolt at him, but said she felt she shot low. When we recovered him, checkout the laceration he had a bit back and low. She was just that close to taking this guy as her very first deer ever!!!!!
Really neat story! I shot and hit a 127" 8 pt when I was about 14 years old and lodged the broadhead right into its spine and needless to say, we never found him. Fast forward a week and my dad shot said buck and found my fixed blade jammed up into the spine. Pretty cool to be able to share a story about the same deer with your gf.
She's had a bunch of cool experiences her first year out in the deer woods. To say she's hooked is a HUGE understatement.
Thanks, man! It's been a great season and this just topped it all off. We've got a couple more weeks left and we're still getting out and trying to get my gf a shot at another deer before the season closes. Can't shoot 'em from the couch!
