Well, it's work for me today. Reality has set in, but good luck to those who will be hunting today! Be safe.

It’s amazing how much slower this thread moves after the second week of November

we should all buy land in Iowa and create a community... we will have to put Joe and Mike on opposite ends but we can make it work.... thoughts?

Cold rainy ****ty weather in South Boston this morning. Good luck if you're out, the deer should be moving this week and next in Central NC, the week following in the NC mountains.

Been watching the Elk 101 Destination Elk and Born and raised series on youtube. It's it too early to be thinking elk hunting next year, but damn I miss it.

Been in my stand for a little while now. Heard something walking in as I was setting up but it stoped walking and haven’t heard anything since hopefully it’s still close.

For those of you guys down in the dumps about buck movement. Keep at it. I have some buddies that have killed real slammers these next ten days. In fact, trail cam footage near bedding areas shows solid buck movement about this time until Thanksgiving. But you have to be in real close to the bedding. I set up a couple trail cams the past few years. One I put on a travel route near bedding. It picked up bucks moving toward that bedding at a good clip, but mostly they were right before sunlight. I put the other up directly in the bedding area. It showed buck movement big time, especially from around this time until Thanksgiving. Bucks fighting, cruising, does being chased....all much later than we normally think. So find you some nasty cover and get in early in the morning. Repeat. Burn a spot. Find another. Repeat.

Great motivation for us all. If you want to be successful, not just as a deer hunter, you cannot ever give up and never give in. I won't quit hunting until the season ends! I love this time of year. For me, I have 43 short days until there is no more deer hunting...then I'll be sad it's over. I have to keep reminding myself - there's always a chance. Get out, scout, check out new areas of the property, ask permission on other parcels, take risks (which is hard for me), and enjoy the time you have in the woods. There are deer out there...and I'm going to kill them.

So about last night.. around 1645 yesterday I had three does in front of me and I see my shooter 260 yards away on top of the hill completely ignoring them. I was hoping he was just making the lazy loop around around but no such luck.

All set up in my tree. Took forever since I have never used climbing sticks and/or a tree saddle. This is interesting. Lol. On my way up the tree I had a nice buck chasing 2 does about 60 yards from me. He was a shooter for sure! But they got down wind of me and started blowing and took off. Already a good sign though. Deer are around and moving. I am on bow only public land in Arkansas today and tomorrow and either doe and/or buck is on the menu. Let’s go!!!

Small buck 10 yards broadside but illegal here. Spike on one side and fork on the other. Needs to be at least 3 points on one side. Where’s your dad or grandpa? That was cool!!

Crazy, I have already matched my “seen” deer count in less than 1 hour today than I have all year long on a total of 10 previous sits. Exciting!

Exactly, I’m so thankful I get to do this. I’m not ready to stop. I’m going to keep grinding for myself and for my team mates. If I never connect with a good buck so be it. I have two and a half months of archery season left. This is far from over. Good luck guys!

In my experience the central Arkansas rut is just heating up. November 11- 28 seem to be the hot times around the places I have hunted.

I saw several of those on Saturday! Stick it out. The one mature buck we saw was around 3:45 pm in the afternoon but he never presented as shot, stayed in cover that was too thick.

    Top O’the morning to ya
Behind me, real nice view of a valley/travel corridor

In front, very thick stretch about 75 yards deep.
You wouldn’t want to walk through there but there’s deer trails.
Beyond that a pond with bedding, where I got the pics of Crawfeet (who is still around btw)
Been getting my ass kicked though.
And I underdressed today, I need the sun to hit me soon!

I have one clean one left, saving it for colder temps later this week.
I have tons of warm clothes back at the room, but didn’t think I’d need em today.
It’s also a lot windier than it was supposed to be
