Here’s another example of how deceiving pics can be. This guys buck. Any guesses on score? 871AE685-CE50-4898-AEE3-7CF944D30D16.png

I’ll just save all the beating around the bush.. this is the same buck on camera. He scored upper 170’s right around 180. I never would have guessed that from the first pic this pic shows way more and I trust the scorer he’s got the credentials. 2A67AAD7-C9A4-4411-9886-83D440145DF3.png

I'll put a tape on him when I get him back this Spring. His base score was 157, I'm guessing he has scored enough deer over the past 25+ years he has been doing taxidermy to have somewhat of a clue on what he's doing.

I'm not an official scorer, and do not believe we have one on this forum.

I kinda wonder about sonething like this point.

    20191114_083940.jpg

I don't know how he scored it, but would you score it as one point, 2 points or maybe even 3? It has 3 tips and could be considered palmation.

    20191118_193621.jpg

Hell, would 3 official scorers with no connection to each other get the same exact score on the same deer, typical and nontypical? I'm sure they would be close to each other but would they be exact with each other? I doubt it.

My deer was never questioned, but before I entered the score I placed it here for critique as I did have a little sticker shock when he told me what he got. I've said in years past and it holds true for future years, if anyone ever questions my scoring or deer score I will take a picture of any measurement in question if I have or when I regain access to the rack.

I could have stretched a few measurements for the few 1/8's on my '17 buck to make the 200 point club. Not my cup of tea.

I would have guessed upper 160's in the first pic, looks like 24" beams amd great 2's and 3's. Likely a bit higher with trail cam pic as it shows all the tines.

Pictures are easy, field judging is hard.

Not sure on that palmated little junk. It all adds up though which is why I think your score is accurate. That little stuff can add up

200 point club is a contest reference, 150+ buck and 50 point 2nd deer.

Not saying was a 200 point buck.

The questioned score from Team 19 is being rescored by the taxidermist. The score will be corrected on the score card once this is done.

It will cool to see the updated scores for the teams posted. I really should add a doe to our score card but it will force me to buy another freezer. Have two already my wife thinks I am crazy to buy a third

Less crazy to buy a third than to get rid of both of them for a walk-in freezer..

Thanks tynimiller! No one reached out to me, until whitetailjunky3 our captain and cantexian were contacted. I never cared to score before, so my first buck with a bow, and first time scoring. I was in a hurry with no garage or cover. It was on Veterans Day in the freezing cold and I had a 1 1/2 hr drive to the processor at 35 MPH. I now know I have more options, even if I get my deer to the processor. I was just trying to make sure I helped my team, but it turn out to be a hassle for them. I will get it fixed. Sorry for the trouble.
