Good luck in the morning guys if anyone is heading to a stand. I however will be heading to the swamp for wood ducks. Will post update after I get back.

Only trespassers then it's for ever. Husband usual just until past dinner....I got up at 4 settled in brush blind and at dawn called in my biggest tom ever. Just as he's about in range my phone starts buzzing. I dont know how but that ole tom heard it and was gone. I answer. Hubby " whachya doing?"
He did not get dinner that night, then I was over it..though haven't forgotten...lol

You can hunt until December 2020, all summer long? Seems a bit excessive.

Beautiful looking browns. Where do you fish them?
Thanks. Didn't see anything close tonight.

Yep, I was thinking about them possibly coming back at a later date, so I removed the stand and the cam. They must have stumbled onto my trail and followed it to it's end, my stand site. I'm very surprised they went that far, as the parking area is about a mile from my spot. I don't think it was another bow hunter, because I've never seen one in this particular area in years.

What I thought was really odd was, they/he undid the bottom traction belt and ran it through the top belt, then reconnected it! Very strange.
I noticed it was messed with when I saw my white marker was exposed. I marked each end of each traction belt with whiteout to let me know I'm at my limit with enough lugs to keep the belt secure. It's for when I need to adjust it while climbing in the dark. That mark doesn't show when they're adjusted properly. I'm just thankful they didn't take the belts.

Anyhow, today I only saw one mature doe for my efforts. She came feeding up past me around 4:45 at about 20yrds. I took a little video and called it a day.

20190330_080917.jpg 50893.jpeg 52975.jpeg 52977.jpeg I wanted to share this story but wasn't sure where to put it but it started last year right in this thread so I thought this was the best place. I was hunting a giant buck last year Iowa muzzleloader and posted how the hunt was going. The buck was on camera sometimes on a giant CRP field. Like you guys know to have the best chance during late season concentrating on a food source is your best chance. The only place I could hunt this buck was the CRP so I chose to sit 10 days trying to kill that buck even though I knew my odds were poor. I never saw that buck, a few nice ones but I really had my mind set on just the one. This spring I went down and shed hunted with my friends and I found his left side. It scored 82 5/8" with two kickers pretty much chewed off. My good friend drew his Iowa archery tag and hunted him very hard. He passed some great bucks hoping to get a shot on a buck we called Flamethrower. Just over a week ago my buddy Max shot him and the buck died with in sight of the stand. Other than for my Dad and my kids shooting deer I have never been happier for someone else shooting a buck. It was scored at 209" and is a true GIANT.

One hell of a buck, but still have to call him out for the arm stretching.

    Not needed, never needed.

If you want the emphasis to be on the rack take a hunterless pic and highlight it.

Nothing against your friend or the buck, just a pet peeve I have. Even hate it for it's origination which is bass fishing....

    Rant over

Sweet Cantexian! Thanks for the scouting report. Yes, I will be at HB for the next 2 days. I am borrowing a saddle, so this should be interesting. Have no idea what I am doing. Lol. Although I did try to get familiar with it tonight on a tree in the backyard. I am excited to hear that I didn’t miss all the rut. You made my day! Now off to bed for a 5.5 hour nap and then HUNT TIME!!!
