Went out today around noon and had a buck and doe bedded down about whole time was out there. If you followed LFTS it was pretty touch and go. Was out there watching for felt like forever, which was hour or more, before the buck finally got up and circled back behind stand. Finally got about a 20-25 yard shot. He was broadside but when I shot arrow didnt get pass thru. Watched him run off about 200 yards onto neighbors. Waiting about hour till around 4 before startes tracking. Nothing so far but I'm headed out in the morning to hopefully find him.

    I'll keep you guys updated

Went out this morning around 830 or so. When first got to spot hecran onto neighbors i decided to srive up the fence row on sxs to see if by chance he stayed out of timber and was out there. Got bout halfway down fence and saw a buck run off and head toward timber. Tried getting a look at him thru binos but wasnt able to. First thought was it was one shot. But decided to go back and try to track from where past found blood. Picked up the trail and found first bed about 50 yards into timber. There was alot of blood and it looked promising. Continued following blood and ended up finding another bed. By this time trail wasnt as good but was still finding it consistent. Had to stop few times and really look but seemed like every time i did it'd pick up. Finally came across a 2nd bed. There wasnt as much in it this time and it was hard finding blood leaving. Ended up finding some here and there until it dried up. Tried following some tracks for while in few different directions but never did find anymore blood.

Have pretty good feeling one that ran off was same deer and he seemed to be doin fine.

Nice job again Cls. Looks like a beast.

I decided to take a break for today. Think after yesterday and night before needed a day to refocus. Went through all gear and got it all back together after having it all scattered. Got few more arrows set up and everything is ready to go. Plan is to head out in morning and sit for while then try to get in for quick bite and go back to where shot that buck. Went to local cafe yesterday and heard some other guys saying it's been slow everywhere. Some seeing some good midday movement tho.

Yea I think that's the case here too. Went to gym tonight and on way down saw alot of doe out in the fields by themselves. Haven't been seeing that much.

Gonna haveta see whay wind is doin im morning to decide which stand to hunt. Kinda iffy about going back where shot at buck other day, but guess may surprise a guy what effect that had

I have hunted the same stand every sit but one.

I don't know your area and set ups, but this stand deer literally come from every direction. Generally they come from East, North and South but cruising bucks come down off the pond and scent check doe bedding and come in from the west.

Once the rut and cruising starts there are bad winds when does start grouping back up, but there is no bad wind for cruisers. Had a NW wind this morning, swirls in the bottoms a bit but the first 3 does came in from the north cut SE in range amd headed up the trail east off property or into bedding. The buck was coming west on that same trail, pretty sure he worked a scrape.

I had 4 different scrapes reopened since Monday, scrapes are a good thing right now it seems.

I'm half tempted to go buy another combo and hit it Saturday for another shot at mature buck. Going to have an easterly wind of some sort, love east based winds.

Congrats, nice buck CL! Traveling at work yesterday, going thru a small rural area town. I say some does on the side of the road grazing. I wish i was in the woods at that moment!:lmao2:

cls74....not trying to be a **** but just wondering where the 11.4" of abnormal points are on your buck? I see a little kicker off the left G2 but that is it. Just curious.

Sorry cls74 didn't see your post with the close ups of the additional sticker points. Really cool extra character!
