I will be out in the morning, 20 yards from where the Booner was photographed. Wind is supposed to be perfect. Needing good vibes and prayers to 8lb 6oz newborn baby Jesus...

29° with a slight breeze in my face. I'll take it!

I had the owners teenage grandson pop out of the house this morning thinking I was a burglar. That was a sketchy situation for a second...

I would bet my Heli that more deer are killed opening day of gun here than all of bow and if not opening weekend for sure

My best chance at a buck during gun season is my spot that I’ve hunted just a few times this year. My dad and uncle are lighting up my best spot next weekend.

Driving home I saw a 140+ running Across the Rd and through a field with it's front leg dangling almost off..... This is why I hate gun season

It will be a few weeks. We have a backlog of footage which I'm ok with because I have a lot of content to try and organize for our editing team.

I agree. Just like bowhunters, there are some that follow the rules and others that dont and destroy the entire sports reputation. I've never actually gun hunted myself but when I was at school at Michigan State I went along for one and was shocked at what I saw. Deer drives where deer were coming onto the property we were hunting after just being shot at from the neighbors. Deer limping across a field while the group I was in were opening fire with iron sights. Was crazy. So many wounded animals. Needless to say that was my first and last experience with them.

Every year seems like we find a deer or two on our property limping around or dead from a gun shot wound. As a result I cringed when I hear the shooting but it's not going to change and you just hope that the shots are from respectable hunters that are taking ethical shots.

    No deer sightings today.

I'm taking the 4 year old out with me tomorrow morning. I should be in buck only mode, but I would probably blast a doe since Em is with me. We'll see how it goes.

Slept in this morning after hunting a lot the last 2 days. Helping the wife do a few things around the house before heading out to hunt again this afternoon. This bright moon has really slowed down daytime movement but the big boys are still here. All I can do is keep hunting the stand with the best wind and hope one of them shows himself in daylight! Just a matter of time...

sorry i haven't posted much. i missed a nanny doe yesterday. i was wearing way to many clothes plus i rushed the shot. on top of that i hit a limb. everything that could of went wrong in that moment did. i passed up another 2.5yr old 8pt. i think i'll be out with a bow for our rifle season and then we have a few weeks of late season as well. i'm sure i'll be good for a doe or i'll run out of arrows trying.

So, I took my daughter to the blind this morning. We got in around 6:15, she napped until 7, and then said she was ready to go home at 7:26. Sunrise was 7:21! Phone games and a BB sighting entertained her until 8:45, but we packed it up after that. Checked cams on the way out...pics solidify everybody's theory that the rutting behavior has been at night. 10p to 4a, specifically.

I did not see a deer this morning and wasn’t able to hunt tonight. Might try to slip out of work right away tomorrow and get a quick one in. I’m taking off at 11:30 on Friday to hunt but have to wear orange and dodge slugs.

I just picked up a suburban hunting property in Southeast Indiana. I won't hunt it this year, but should be a fun spot next season. 15ish acres...my favorite size. I've only ever hunted AZ and OH.
