I'm taking off for the woods now. Today there's much less wind than yesterday. I find the wind to be THE MOST annoying thing while I'm hunting! A breeze is one thing, but when that wind kicks up it gets everything moving, and it's tougher to see deer movement in the thick stuff I hunt. Also, it stops me from being able to hear the deer, which I rely on. Because usually by the time I see a deer it's already in bow/CB range. The wind also makes it feel a lot colder, so I guess there's not much I do like about the wind! I'm going hunting now.

Why would you leave? Good chance of bumping him as you come and go.

Well. My suspicion got the best of me. I took a short little scouting walk to see what the heck is going on. I walked up on the ridge and found the deer were giving me the slip. A lot of deer. In a very short distance I counted about 10-15 beds. And a huge feed area. Needless to say I moved my stand. If a buck is locked down with a doe she will possibly bring him here. I have the rest of today and tomorrow and that's it. I'm starting to get aggressive now.

My morning plan sort of worked. Had both bow and rifle for the MI opener. Had a dandy buck in chip shot bow range. Problem? It was 20 minutes before legal time. Snow, nearly full moon and he's just standing there! Ha ha!

On a side note, some dumbass forgot his boots this morning. 26 degrees. Good thing i had my warm socks and found an insole heat pack in my day pack.

Made the 40 minute ride home so i can be comfy this afternoon.

I'm back in for the afternoon . Sitting morning stand till 2:45, the switching to my late day stand, where I have my only daylight Walker pic. Nice 100-110 8pt which I would shoot. It's also the stand I shot my bucks out of in 2016 and 2018 in the last half hour of shooting time.
