Well just made it back to truck. Was just finding pin drops until they stopped. Maybe 30 yards past 2nd bed. All the blood was bright red and never really looked foamy like got lungs. My gut is telling me the one that ran off was most likely same deer. From looks of it he was running fine. Blood kinda drying up and lack of blood in 2nd bed kinda makes me think he clotted up. Went to where saw the one run off and didn't find any blood either.

So I'm kinda at loss as far as tracking and from what saw all morning kinda feel like he will be fine. Kinda sucks not finding him and woulda been cap to pretty intense hunt yesterday. Also woulda been first buck I've shot with bow, shot a few with shotgun and smaller one when first started bowhunting, but I guess its all part of it. Also first seer I've pulled trigger on that haven't found. As of right now really don't have much to think bout whole deal. There is some comfort seeing the one run off this morning and being pretty sure it's same deer.

But thanks for all the support from here. You guys are awesome, know you were all rooting me on to find him but doesnt seem meant to be this time. Dont think I'll make it out tonight, but plan is too try it again tomorrow.

Seemes like he was watching where he came from on second bed and then left goin same way, opposite direction. As of right now I'm back home and dont know what really think. I marked last blood and am goin to grab bite to eat. Idk if go back out and try it again or not. Blood kinda dried up after got up 2nd time.

Damn that’s a rough break! I echo the others, you gave it a hell of an effort trying to find him! Shake it off, and get back out there tomorrow!

JRK - man I wish you would have got him - seemed like an incredible hunt. It seems like he'll be ok and hopefully you get another chance at him. Keep shooting my friend.

We have all been there! It sucks but unfortunately it is part of the sport, based on the blood from today my money is on him being alive!

^This. Hanger and sticks on the pack going in...the stand can stay, if needed. This is the only way I can justify 2 to 3 mile hikes in. [IMG]

Sadly only tomorrow all day and half day on Friday. Maybe Saturday afternoon. Shotgun opens next Wednesday. I really can’t miss class on Monday or Tuesday. I do get a bonus week late season dec23-Jan 1st.
