Anyone have any comfortable mods for carrying a summit climber? The provided backpack straps are about to drive me up the walls, I've carryed some very uncomfortable bags on my back for a good bit but man. Any help is appreciated.

I bought 2 cheap (Winchester) rifle slings from Walmart. They worked ok. Only issue I had was barely enough material to wrap around the tubing. Other than that comfortable as heck as they are neoprene

image.jpg As you can see on the top side there’s not a ton of strap to work with. I was able to manage to make it work though. Like I said VERY comfortable

I carry mine with the cables up. I found some old ALICE ruck sack straps and put those on which i can adjust on the go plus a small piece of 550 cord loop to clip my backpack to. This leaves my pack secure and quiet, nothing dragging low to the ground and east to manuever.

XOP transport system looks awesome! I have 2 Summit Vipers, one mini aluminum model, and a classic steel one. My aluminum frame I use a Molle gear shoulder straps, waist belt, and the plastic frame...it adds about 4-5 pounds total. That rig weighs in around 26 pounds total. The steel one I have the basic summit straps on, they suck for sure, but that stand is my "leave it in the woods overnight" stand, so if it comes up missing, I wont be as mad as if it were the aluminum rig.

Does anyone have any next level diy tree stand ladders? It can be pretty permanent.

New to climbing stands so I found this helpful. Only have ever used ladder stands.

The best straps i have found for the summit came from an Army rucksack. I carry my Viper with cables facing up also.

Need a new seat for my LW Assault. Love the stand, but my butt and the seat are not getting along any more.

On my climber, I screwed a plastic boat cleat to the side of it with 20' of rope with a NiteIze rubber band at the end. I unravel it when I climb and when I can feel the tug of the bow I know I am at the height I'd like to be.

I kind of did the same thing using an old fly reel and paracord, once it got tight I knew that was high enough PLUS, I could reel in the cord after I pulled my bow up.

Done the extra straps, the pipe foam, tape, but always I add chain in addition to the strap.
One important mod for snowy icy areas. I cut strips of 1/4 in hardware cloth. To fit length and wide enough bent, to slip over rungs. I spray paint them then bend sides to slide over rungs. I then take heavy zip ties and zip tie in 3 places on the underside to tighten from slipping. There is nothing worse than sneaking into an area to hunt, getting to the stand and finding the rungs so iced over you don't dare try climbing. I also p!ace pieces of rubber roofing on platform and seat. This allows lift snow and ice off quickly and easy to rollup and rubber band placing between tree and back side during hunt.I also do this on wooden ladder rungs. Those can get slippery even in summer due to slime from moisture and shade.
PS. You may think...Huh all those 1/4 squares will do is hold more snow and ice. Well to an extent yes. THAT said, it works because that surface area will release with a sliding of your boot across it, allowing for a grab to your boot.

Saw a picture of a guy added a millenium seat to his Assault II. May have been the m7 micro. Pretty cool. I like the millenium seats.
