Anybody have an SD card picture/video viewer they can recommend? Looking for something portable/with good battery life to use in the field. Thanks.

HuntPerfect and HME have some fancy little gadgets that plug into your phone and slide the sd card in and you can view and save pics right to your phone. I also bought an HME handheld viewer but dont use it now that I can just use my phone.

Being completely honest they are mostly junk, working in the industry I have yet to find one that is consistently good. The one I would try would be the browning but they are over 100 retail. I personally have had decent luck with the wild game, every once in awhile it won’t read and when I get back home the card works in the computer.

Thanks guys. I figured they were junk. I’m probably running 75-80% of my cameras on video mode. Might give the browning a look. Thanks again.

Amazon has a an SD adapter that plugs right into an iphone for $12. I haven't tried it yet but for that price I'll give it a shot before getting something with its own screen.

I've got the stealth cam one that plugs into your phone. Seems to work good so far. Don't have cams set for videos so don't know about that. If remember right supposed to get a app to view stuff but I haven't been using app. Got it because itveqs pretty cheap and haven't had any issues yet. I only use it when walk by card on way to stand then I'll check it so don't really use it whole lot. [IMG]

I went on e-bay and bought a compact Cannon camera, not a real big screen but can zoom in to closer investigate antlers. Bought it cheaper than a hunting reader product.

Thanks guys I may look into those readers. I looked at the reviews for that browning reader and they weren’t very good.

Soto I may look at getting a cheap camera. I know I had an old Kodak at one point. Like so many things the ex wife probably has it.

I just got a moultrie card reader that plugs into phone. App is free and you can save photos and erase card from phone. Cheap but works good enough. I just got my first camera in sept. And that is also cheap but has been working great so far.

    Thanks
Yeah was a great first week for me. Still trying to fill my last doe tag but of course now all I’m seeing in range is bucks. It’s like they know I can’t shoot them. I guess I don’t want it to happen too soon because that means I would be sitting on the couch instead of on stand.

Like others have said. Just get a card reader from Amazon or even Walmart. To view the pics and video, I use an old android cell phone dedicated just to view and store the files.

Got a wild game viewer 2 years ago, worked first year, wont even come on this year!
Do the card reader that plugs into your phone show good pictures? Do you have to have a certain i phone? I have an i phone 6 will that work with the card reader?

This is the one I have, the wife bought it for me a few years ago and I'm not sure they still make them. It was actually a controller for Leupold trailcams but it also functioned as a card reader. It's rechargeable and very durable. If you can find one, they work well.[IMG][IMG]

Exactly. I use my little Canon Power Shot cam, works great. The zoom is a nice option.

I use the one for my phone manufactured by Apple and it hasn’t let me down once. Let’s me import them directly into the album corresponding to which camera it came from directly onto my phone!!
