Thanks, Carter. I appreciate it but I made a mistake and I am more than willing to own up to it. I wouldn't want to make it go away; I would just want to make it right. I just wish I hadn't screwed up. Anyway, that's why I've been kind of quite on the forums for the past two days.
No worries. It definitely doesn't take away from "who" you are. You're our friend and we don't look at you any different. Love ya! Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
LC, honest mistake stuff happens. I wouldn’t give it a second thought. When I was in my twenty’s my buddy and I would hunt a large tract of public for the gun opener. We both shot a couple of doe and after my buddy shot his he realized he left his doe permit at home. Of course we get stopped and checked. I was thinking my buddy was screwed. Next thing I know the CO is writing me a ticket. I had a cheap green watch that I wore just for hunting. The date was off by a day. So when I filled out my tag I wrote the wrong date on it. My buddy ended up driving home and got his tag and they tore up his ticket. This was my dumb ass moment. I laugh about it now.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: You are a good young man Carter. This world needs more people like you in it.
I doubt I'll laugh about this one later, but I do appreciate it. It's good to know I'm not the only one who has screwed up.
I really do appreciate that! I'll be 50 next year. I'm getting close to ya. Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Sometimes common sense needs to come first when interpreting the law but the police academy does not teach common sense That said: The buck was a legal kill The buck is still a fat toad You are still an ethical hunter All good in my opinion Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You have police who use common sense, and you have those who are high and mighty and only see black and white. Unfortunately you seem to have ran into one without common sense. I’d never write you a ticket
I'm not sure why I was thinking you were younger. We'll strike the "young" and just say you're a good man.
Heck yes it is!!! I feel great! I skate with both the 12u and 10u teams during practice. I'm a coach, not the head coach. I love it and the our boys love having me out there helping!!!
I appreciate that, Chief! There is no doubt that I act a lot younger than I am. I enjoy laughing and seeing others laugh. Good Luck in the woods today, everyone!! We're finishing up some work planting trees for a farm program we qualified for. I'll be back at it Friday morning. I'll still be watching though!!
I've went back through my pic's and I believe the deer I'm after is either 8 1/2 or 9 1/2. It would be awesome to harvest such an animal!!!
Yes, that would be a heck of an accomplishment. My son is on stand here at my home place but nothing has been moving here the past two days. We should be hooking the travel trailer up tomorrow and heading to Mark Twain Nat'l Forest. Our camp site is only 30 minutes from my house. I'll be trying hard to get him his first bow kill(s) but as for me, I'm just going to be sitting mostly to observe other spots for him. I have three antlerless tags but I'm really not interested in taking another deer right now. Given the opportunity I may shoot a doe for him to take back along with anything he gets, but I won't be doing any serious hunting until the 16th when I can shoot another buck. I bet I'll see quite a few bucks now that I can't shoot one.
Holy crap! Look what walked in front of my camera on my little home place last night: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I wonder if that is the same buck that I posted pics of back on page 19? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well just got back to Kansas this evening. Pulled cards and have some young ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think it might be. Same general frame and that little tiny kicker on the right G3? Pretty cool, great buck.
