The wind has picked up a little more than I like to set out in the open.
I'm going to stay at home and set in the timber.

Congrats everyone!!! Man what a morning! At 5 minutes till legal light I had a giant buck coming in, he was at about 40 yards in some thick stuff but I could see big antlers, hit a grunt and a bleat but he went off the other way, then about 10 minutes later some idiot comes in and apparently he set his stand up this week 70 yards from mine, comes in at daylight and climbs in makes a bunch of noise cocks his crossbow and is moving around like crazy. So I get all mad, next thing I know this big doe steps out and is heading right for the guy... she gets to a clearing at 32 yards I have her in frame on my camera draw back, Mehh and she ducks but I still caught lung and I have to guess artery, I pack my stuff up, get down the tree and check the arrow, blood everywhere!!! Start walking out to the truck to shed some layers and there she lays, didn’t make it 60 yards!!! Not sure if you can tell in the picture but she was a big doe! Tons of fat on her. Good luck out there today guys!!! Heading to a wedding now IMG_2529.JPG IMG_2530.JPG IMG_2604.JPG 59439468204__3122CCDB-2707-4CDE-9CD5-950AC4885A28.JPG IMG_2617.JPG

I just heard a grunt, followed by the thumps of deer running. 50 yards in front of me is a fence and some really thick stuff.
I saw a young buck go hauling by, then a fawn jumped the fence and stood right in front of me.
I think it was her mother being chased and there were several deer.
    Got the blood flowing!

Well gang, my worst nightmare has become a reality. The tornado that hit Delaware county has decimated my exact hunting spot!
I’m glad I didn’t try to go in before first light this morning, because I wouldn’t have known where I was. My immediate hunting spot is unrecognizable. Literally!!

I’m heart broken to say the least. I’d been hunting these woods for 16 years. It’s so bad that I can’t even locate my 2 trail cams. These were woods I knew well, not any longer.

Just had a lone, mature doe walk by browsing leaves at 25 yds.
Considered shooting her but I thought something may be following.
    Nothing, damn

Havent seen a deer since 8am yesterday. Long two days. I havent seen much rutting behavior since 2017. 2018 I hardly saw any. Come on. Gonna be like Sota. I better see some damn antlers!
