He was a good two or three inches outside of his ears. He’s right mb kinda just forked at the end and the left had a pretty long G2. His main beams and overall frame were bigger than the 113” and 116” eights I’ve killed. When he turned around and scratched his back with his forked main beam that done me in. It sucks. I’d do the same thing 10x over again. I was confident in my shot, shot execution was good, arrow placement looked good. That being said, when I found the arrow, the nock was broken. It never did light up. Maybe it broke on the shot, maybe it broke while flopping around while he was running. Either way, what’s done is done. Back at it tonight
Yep, that really sucks. I lost a nice one last year. It still stings just thinking about it. With that said I saw 7 this morning, but nothing close enough. Going back out with my son this evening. Heading out in a few here.

2 fawns and 14 turkeys. Almost shot a Turkey but there wasn't a single long beard in the group, so I passed them up as well. Getting down soon. My next sit will be Friday morning.
I wish we had a fall turkey season here. I've had a clear shot at two toms so far this deer season. Drives me nuts how the woods are overrun with them during deer season but come springtime and start of our turkey season they all but disappear.
Got to work today, they asked if I was taking Friday off. I said “no, why?” “We are. You don’t want to be here by yourself do you?” “Nope, I’m putting in for Friday off.” lol So I’m hunting the cold front Friday morning. Low of 26!!

Put another doe down this morning. All I need now is one more doe and my son needs to fill his buck tag and we'll be done. Been a pretty good year so far, and I'm off til the 13th of November so it should be some pretty good hunting.

Good job man. I plan on hitting it in the A.M. I start vacation on 8 November until 17 November, I hope my rut prediction for my area pans out. I waited and waited for this kid who is hunting with me to take out a few doe, well he has failed to deliver, all bets are off in the morning. The old man is pulling the release trigger on something this weekend !!!! Dave
