Don’t underestimate those overgrown logging roads, especially if they run perpendicular to any hard and soft edges with your pines. Best wishes and shoot’em straight!

Guys, it’ll be a little longer before I can contribute. Headed to Tennessee on Sunday for a couple days then back to Wyoming. Gonna try to fill this elk tag and maybe the bear tag too.

Plot twist. Tropical storm will be here tomorrow afternoon... This could go either way.

    Saw deer! (and turkeys).

Shot at a doe, but missed (bottom limb hit my leg on release).

I’ve been out for a couple weeks. Broke my little toe over 2 weeks ago.Suffered through in my big rubber boots the first weekend. Was not fun. Back at it next weekend no matter what. Maybe it won’t be cold and I can wear the open toe boot they gave me.
If can’t get it done next weekend I plan on spending more days in the woods than out the first two weeks of November.

I had planned on doing a scout ground hunt on a new piece of public this afternoon. Unfortunately, the toddler started a stomach bug last night and I woke up with it this morning. Working on carving the kids’ pumpkins this morning. Hoping to get in a morning hunt next Saturday but a few days after that, we are meeting my parents at Disney World for the kids fall break. I may not be back out until Nov 9. Good luck everyone!

Preliminary weather report shows good day on the following Monday. If it stays, taking off Monday to hunt all day.

Wednesday Thursday and Friday we are supposed to have some great fall weather. Thinking I may take off at least Friday and maybe Thursday. Been hunting hard and enduring some crazy weather. Tropical storm and flooding not seen in decades.

Rain/flooding was the situation in NC last year. How much rain did you have in MD?

Ridgetops and swamp edges were where I was finding deer last year.

Only had an inch of rain but it was on the heels of a full moon high tide along with tropical depression Melissa which brought flooding about 5 feet higher than normal. I will make the switch away from sikas and to whitetail on Monday.

Might regret not going out today, but it drizzled all day. I am holding out for Tuesday thru Saturday this next week.

    I hunted until 1
Pm today in a great river bottom spot. Saw a doe and fawn along with a little fork buck. Fork buck wasn’t legal and the doe never came closer than 60 yards.
