I shot a buck in October about 5 yrs ago before work. Hang the thing up and part of the strap broke and hit me in my eye. I couldnt see for several minutes and my eye took at least a week to heal. Hurt like heck Rest up!

Time to make friends with the dogs. They may come in handy someday. Especially if they bark at deer or the smell of deer. My neighbor had a dog that did that. Took me s couple years to put it together that was what they were doing.

Once i figured it out, i had about a 4 minute warning.

Gor a dandy buck one year because that dog sounded the alert. Never would have had the shot if i wasnt up and turned the correct way.

I'm glad that situation wasn't worse than it was. You actually got lucky! I think the eyes are the most sensitive part of the human body.

After all the scouting/walking/crawling/climbing I did this past weekend, I said I didn't want to think about deer for a few days...the test revels that that is a lie...I'm ready to get back in to the woods.

Thanks to be honest , I can't sit still so got the leaf blower out to finish what I started the other day. I went to the path it happened . I always say for every bad there is a good. My good on this...right where it happened is now a downed tree. Sometimes God let's you know JUST how lucky we are.
Literally ran out of gas so checked cams on way to Gator Last night There was a nice 1 or 2 ( yes I know 1/2)6 and 8 under my middle oak stand.
Eyes not as sore but under my eye, my cheek and nose look a bit rough.
Good thing I love hubby this would be perfect in pics..heeheehee

I’m hoping there isn’t too much of a track, he ran about 30 yards before crashing, he got back up and ran another 10 before crashing again. I think he’s down right in front of me, but I can’t see him. Gonna wait 10 more mins before checking my arrow

First things first, did you hit it or just shoot at it?

    Good luck!
