Well fellas great news....with scorecard's update on the 14th....this is the ONLY team to hit 200 points without having a buck down yet. That is awesome....add in Bone's slickhead guarantee coming ( :tu: ) we might just have 250 before sunset.

Well fellas, I still haven't seen a shooter on stand. In fact the biggest so far was a four point. My Dad connected Sunday night while we were in Ohio. This is the buck we called Neck Shot because the neighbor spot and stalked up on him in his bed and when he stood up he shot and hit him in his neck. Deer survived and I fed him protein pellets all winter, spring and summer. He scored 129".

1 new buck showed up at my grandpa's 40. And my first daylight pic of the only 3 yr old that I know of by my house. Getting me excited! PICT0045.JPG WGI_0400.JPG

Well guys I did a hang and hunt tonight... after getting all set up and sat down I realized I forgot my release and I don’t have a backup. Checked 2 scrape cams. One is active the other didn’t take any videos after the first day.

Happy to report one of my biggest bucks checked it out once at 545am.

The problem is trying to pattern him. I’ve got 3 or 4 pics all year on 6 cams, on 50 acres. I do know he is on the south side more than the north. I’ve got cams on scrapes on the south end where big rubs started showing up, they are about 100 yards away from one another. He showed up at this one but not the other. Our land borders a large chunk of timber/swamp so it’s going to be like catching lightning in a bottle. The beautiful thing about all of this is that we have the only 2 bean fields around. Does are flocking to them right now.

Looks like we are currently in 8th place. I'm not going back to Ohio until the 25th. They should be starting to move by then. I do have this one showing up on our other farm. I'm guessing it's close to 140". IMG_1040.jpg IMG_1041.jpg IMG_1042.jpg

Sadly for me having mainly only Fridays-Sundays to hunt with new job this season already has limited time. This weekend isn't looking good either...Friday and Sunday obligations and Saturday only the morning is possible...

Hope I can live vicariously through some harvest pictures from you all this weekend!

Well I pulled the chip on my on the way out last night. Looks like that old nanny doe I had pics of discovered my blind two days ago. Kind of explains why I didn't see her. She had been a regular between 4-6 PM.

This Friday I plan hunting along the river. I have killed several out of the stand I plan on hunting. Hope the South wind holds that they are predicting.

I did get another pic of a small 9.

The shooting house is finished at the family farm. Nephew did a nice job finishing it out.

Ty, you will get it done. My wife is a college basketball coach and I have 3 kids. Every hunting season is a challenge as my wifes season officially begins in October and my oldest daughters hs season opens the first week on Nov. I lose some seriously good hunting. Ive tried to make up for it by just hunting. Whenever I can...

Just got in. Perfect night. Sat in the same stand I did last night (remembered my release this time). 10+ deer in the neighbors bean field about 80 yards away. Snuck out without spooking anything. Need the bucks to start showing up.

I was going to take off a couple hours of work and get off at 5am to hunt tomorrow bc of the awesome temps. Well work has exploded so Im not gonna leave my partner out to dry this morning in case something comes up. Instead of hunting with 35 degree temps tomorrow morning ill be hunting with 60 degree temps tomorrow afternoon. Haha...but the wind will be a lot better and Im moving in on a doe bedding area just in case the cold snap has a big boy moving just before dark.
