Going to rivals for their senior night and my daughter has best game of her year. In front of scouts. Crush them at their school 3 games straight. Hearing the crowd cheer "This is Ona's (daughter) House" almost teared up so proud. 16889.jpeg

Earlier this week, my toddler started running to me as soon as I walk in house after getting home from work. He jumps in my arms, gives me a big hug, and says, "I missed you daddy! Give me big hugs." Moments like that make all the tough moments of parenting worth it.

When I walk in the door my 13 month old will drop what he is doing and haul ass over to me for a hug. It is an amazing feeling for sure!

Enjoy that time, it is over as soon as they get a smart phone.

Son scored 21 points, 6-8 from behind the stripe, only issue is I shut the camera off the second half and missed his last two. One of which was NBA range.

My kids are not getting a smart phone until they move out. I will buy them a cheap phone to talk and text when they are old enough, but a smart phone will wait until they are paying their own bills. I am not going to lose my kids to a stupid phone.

My toddler is two now. He has been running and hugging me for months. Saying he missed me and wants a hug is new.

What we did was let our kids join the family phone plan when they could buy their own phone and pay their 'share' of the bill.

Guess what, they all got jobs pretty quick. Even if it was mowing lawns.

Doubt me all you want, I am the one making the money. Until they get a job and spend their own money, I decide what they get. I don't care about my kids being cool to their friends. I care about them having the ability to contact me in an emergency. I care about them having more social skills then the current idiots that pass for teenagers.

In ten years by the time your kid is 12 smart phones will probably be considered old school and there will be some new crazy device everyone uses.

There is no doubt, difference is I have already had Teenager in my life, and what I boasted about and stated would happen when she was 3, well differs from reality.

It would be fun to see what the reality is for you in 10 years vs what you state today. There are many of us here that would say reality turned out different than what was stated 10 years prior. You know what that's okay.

Germ when my daughter was 3 "My daughter will not go to Michigan State, Norte Dame or Ohio State" I boasted about that to everyone.

Reality she goes to Michigan State

Not to be a jock sniffer but I got on the plane headed for phoenix and thought I recognized the guy in from of me. I stole a glance at his boarding pass and indeed it was Curtis Schilling. I let 3 rows behind me get off so I could shake his hand, a World Series Legend and a great guy.

So today my wife sold her game horse for the asking price, while you do not ever make money selling a horse she sold it for twice what she paid for it. So happy no more feeding every morning and night, no more stock tank heater. Now I have 200 bales of hay for sale for $5 each. Best part is I do not have to rent a place to store 2 boats they will be in the barn. It is kinda sad because it is another step towards leaving the ranch.
