Well tonight didn’t go as planned. Had a nice 10 point step out about 6:30pm. Walked fast across the field. I got the camera and go pro on, went up and over my tree saddle bridge as he was to my right, and ranged him at 45 yards. He stopped on his own. I had time but rushed the shot. Hit him high and back and little. Arrow stayed in him as he ran off. Got down and found 1 drop of blood. He unfortunately crossed the property line. Got the number and called but no answer. For the past couple days i've've been sequestered in the garage working on a car that I rebuilt the engine for. Today I'm waiting for the last part to arrive with the UPS truck which comes in the early afternoon. So this morning I'm heading out to my Hamilton county property in search of the illusive doe. I haven't been there in about a week so I'm hoping that with a good wind today I've let it cool down a bit and that I'll see something worth shooting in range. 6 out of the 11 of us have knocked a doe down. That's pretty dang good this early in the contest. Now we need to start laying some bucks down.
Not Travis but if I go and its supposed to rain a take a water resistant JVC camera with me vice my main camera. I think I got it off e-Bay for like 150 or so. HD and not top quality but least I don't toast my bigger cam.
