Weird year here in central Minnesota, it has been one of the wettest years on record. We have not had our first frost yet it has snowed. Seems like it is going to be another warm fall and warm falls are not conducive to a hard rut.
I'm a bit Northeast of LaCrosse, Wi and we just had our first hard frost on Monday. In the last few weeks I've seen snow flurries, hail and a good amount of rain. It's been cooler than normal for this time of year but is going to warm up a bit for this weekend.
been very dry until yesterday..got over an inch of rain.. we were in a drought. It's been a bit warm. but it's turning a bit chilly, well at least to us southern boys..Friday night is going to be 38 for a low so that is really cold for Oct here in the upper south.
Hard freeze here this past Sunday night. Moisture needs to stop otherwise the warm weather is welcomed for me until we get further into harvest. I'm still seeing a ton of deer moving during the daylight hours while farming.
We had an early freeze in the northern half of Oklahoma and then it was 80° again. Drier than a popcorn fart when we should be having nice rains. The little bit of wheat I have planted looks like chit. So, kinda wonky and it'll probably snow next week..
Weather here in Central IL hasn't been to bad. last week or so has been in the 60's for the most part with the lows in the upper 30's and in the 40's and 50's. We could actually use some rain here even though the farmers would hate that. There are still a ton of Crops up with the late planting this spring and the fairly mild summer there is a lot of corn that won't be ready until November or a hard frost which ever comes first.
Wet and average temps till now. That said 2 seasons ago we had heavy snow Oct 1. Years ago I knew what seasonal norms were... Now everyday is a SURPRISE!!
43 degrees this morning and dropped to 41 mid-morning. Cooling off finally! Been waiting for this since March. Need to practice some as summer was miserable in the 90s with heat indices over 100. Even mornings and evenings were hot and humid.
Finally cooling off to highs in the upper 60s, low 70s. Lows around 50 in the mornings. But unseasonably dry. Leaves and acorns started falling mid- September due to the lack of rain. Leaf cover in the trees is already like what typically is in mid-November.
I can't wait for tomorrow winds due to calm, rains will ease up and stop. Leaves are still heavy in trees but many stripped clean. I will be able to clean trails now and will need to because limbs and branches everywhere.
Cold wet n overall just crappy. Muddy everywhere you go. Nice today and next 4 days. Farmers need it BAD!
Wet here as well - but most of that came in September and hasn't gone away yet. Outside of that we've had really good temps for hunting, but a lot of wind recently. All things considered, so far it's been pretty good for hunting. Hoping it stays that way through the rest of the month.
St Louis area has been beautiful. What fall should be like every year. A little dry spell but that was just quenched. We have more rain on queue for the weekend so it’s really been good imo.
Only logged one hunt in 56*weather. Been in the 80s and low 90s most weekends so far here into Texas. Get a nice little change at least for the morning lows this weekend. Next weekend looks to be fantastic and luckily I took vacation to hunt so looks like it might work out!
Dry in central ky. Some rain Tuesday night but need a lot more. We had frost in some low areas this morning. Would’ve been a good morning to hunt, sadly duty calls. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Finally had a warm sunny day yesterday, got a stand hung and new straps on the ladder stands. Feel a lot better about my travel schedule now.
