Anyone going to be out this weekend? I ended up making it out last Sunday but had no luck. I'll be in the stand from Friday evening until Sunday so hopefully can run across something good! Something good is going to happen this weekend, I can feel it!
I am going out this evening with a friend who is just getting in to hunting. We have a nice big two man stand so I am going to sit with him and give him some pointers. With traveling tomorrow after work to head to my weekend hunting spot I don't really want to shoot a deer this evening and have to deal with it. I will be hunting Friday thru Sunday and am really pumped to get some sits in!

Sat yesterday evening in the wind and rain. Only seen a doe with fawn and a spike. Was hoping the cold front pushing in would get my target buck up and moving. I'll give it another go Friday evening and won't be able to get back out until Sunday morning due to a wedding Saturday...
Gotta love them weddings during hunting season. I told my wife last year we are getting married before the season lol.

yeah...my wife's cousin is getting married Nov 3! can't be helped, though. Her mother is in final stages of cancer so the date got moved up. I'm gonna hunt that TH-Sat AM, drive home that afternoon, do the rehearsal dinner that night, wedding Sunday, then Monday AM drive back up to deer camp thru the rest of the week.
Crazy weekend/ night at the lease. Yesterday deer were on the move, seen 8 in total for the day which is rare for my area. Took a hog first around 530-40pm, went down to retrieve and look at arrow. Just shortly afterwards around 620 I catch movement to my right in the creek, I do a couple of grunts with my call not knowing what they are and end up having 5 does walk in on me. Took me forever to get a shot off and finally an old nanny doe presented a shot. I take the shot and see her go down within about 40 yards. In the meanwhile, I can hear another group of pigs further down in my creek bottom growling and squealing at each other, well they come in around 645ish and start browsing, I shoot another pig. They don't know what's going On and continue to stay there... I'm down to my last arrow which is basically my spitfire head with no blades. I sling an arrow at another pig. They still are standing there, at this point I grab my pistol and they finally catch my movement and bug out of there. What an incredible night to be in the stand.
I carry a Xdm in 45 and I just saw 4 bears on my way in to the blind this weekend and I had one on my chair in my pop up.. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
Noodles, I'm keeping the doe in my back pocket in case we need the extra points and I'm not able to take a buck! About time for some big bucks to be hitting the ground for the team! Don't worry I took two different pics.
Plan for this week is to hunt Friday afternoon thru Sunday here in Ohio. Leaving for Oklahoma Monday evening to hunt Wednesday-Sunday muzzleloader season. Then I'll be back in Ohio woods 11/7 to 11/11. Weather is getting good and bucks are hitting scrapes and starting to roam a little more during daylight hours.
