With those day light pics I would waste any time getting out there! He is definitely a great buck, I bet your getting pumped! Maybe it was meant to be with losing that first buck, now you can chace this one.

I moved in close to those bucks last night, kind off a all or nothing sit. Well mother nature had different plans for me. It poured rain the whole time! Right at last light I could hear the buck up high on the ridge scraping and chasing deer around about 100 yards away. So I know he still in there. I'm going to give the spot another sit. I believe all the bucks bedded high due to the rain. And the chess game begins!

I'm planning to hunt Wednesday morning for a few hours. Looked at the weather and that should be the best day. I hate those "what do you think he'll score" posts. I figured real close to 150". What do you guys think?

I’m no expert but after scoring mine and seeing this one I would say that’s pretty good guess

It will be close. He's not real wide, but has great mass. And alot of tines will add up quick. My guess would be 145. But hey, there's one way to find out!

Well had some time this weekend to hunt, but chose to hang a couple stands instead. I'm just not confident my stands are in the optimal locations since I don't have my food plot this year. I'm really liking the second setup it.

Still planning to sacrifice sleep and hunt in the morning. Forecast calling for rain this evening and wind should be perfect in the morning. Hopefully he will come in to freshen up his scrapes between 7-8 in the morning. I'll be waiting. [IMG][IMG]

For you guys that don't read in the Live from the stand thread. I had that big 8 pt. stand from his bed at 40 yards and walk out right to me. Took a perfect broadside shot at 20 yards and I hit a limb that was 5 feet from him and stuck in the ground right under him. Everything worked perfect and I missed! Was a little bummed and been reliving it over and over today. Good news is he had no idea what happen and just walked off.

Well back at it. Just got settled in and ready. New set. I can see a long way. Farmer just cut corn so hopefully they are all in the woods. Noticed a pile of rubs and a scrape on my way in.

Hahaha, that will happen! As soon as you don't have a buck tag, they will show up!

I’m glad the one I got showed up first because I probably would have shot the one on camera. He’s bigger than most I see here.

Well had another good sit but didn’t kill anything. Saw 5. Had a basket rack 5 go by at 18 yards sniffing the evercalm I rubbed in stump. Could have fired him up. Then had 2 small yearlings go wandering by at 10 yards. Just as it was getting dark I had a big doe and yearling come from my weak side in the saddle and big doe caught me moving. I got drawn back on her at 15 yards but she jumped away before I could get pin settled. I was in the right spot just didn’t work out. Don’t think I will get out again until next Tuesday.

It’s been one of those years so far where they just seem to want to walk right up to me. I know last year it wasn’t like this but I’m pretty sure weather was a lot hotter here last year for the first couple weeks. Conditions have been pretty good here at least the days I’ve been out.

I got off work this morning at 2:30am and was in bed by 3:00. My son woke me when he dropped his daughter off. Jumped in the shower, got dressed and my wife and granddaughter dropped me off. I made my way to my stand, being careful to to bump any deer. A little before 8, a doe and fawn walked by at 30 yards. About thirty minutes later I did a little light rattling. Caught movement to the West. A little 6 point walked straight in to my set up to about 10 yards. At 9:30 I tied my rope to my crossbow and was fixing to lower it, when a spotted a tree violently shaking. At this point I could not tell how big he was. I continued to watch him as another buck came in. They sparred for a couple minutes before moving away. I wish this story had a spectacular ending but it doesn't. If you were to add all three bucks together, they wouldn't score 120". None the less it was a good morning to be in the woods. I got down at 10:00 and went to bed. I was back at work this afternoon. It's going to be a long night!
