You can also burn yourself out hunting a lot early. Be patient and play the game right and you will catch up with him. It’s still a little early and he’ll be on the move more soon. Your mind will wear you out if you let it. Sometimes it’s best to have time off now so you can hunt harder when it’s prime. Good luck I know how you feel.

I'll be in a stand in NJ Thursday after that rain pushes through. Thursday and Friday are looking real good temperature wise and post cold front. Plus it looks like a little pre rut activity is taking place

I'm back out for the evening hunt. Wind is great if they come in front of me but if there behind me I'm done. Hopefully something shows up either way.

That's a great question. I think it will be fine, the water seems to keep moving in there. It has small drainage ditches that seem to keep the water moving. But I'm sure as soon as it freezes up, he may be moving to his late season bed.

Yes worked great with the goats...until I was stalked and surrounded by a pack of yotes. I'm talking circling me by a few yards in the dark. Called DEC. their response
"Ya, you were breakfast". That ended the goat barn gear hanging...

I think as long as the rain held off / lightened up I’d go for it .
I’d give it one last shot before the muzzleloader season

I doubt it would “flood” enough to make him abandoned the spot
I’m sure he knows the dry spots
He’s there for a reason ..... he’s safe and has been safe in past .
As long as none of the muzzleloader hunters know of him and the spot he’s fine. Like mentioned earlier the gun pressure likely will have him hold up tighter in his spot .

I’m dying to know ..... taking a guess what would he score ??

These neighborhood deer almost got savagely attacked. They should know better than expose themselves around a guy without a bow kill.[IMG]

Up in a tree in NY tonight. Beautiful day, slight S breeze and an enjoyable evening to sit in a stand. Just need a deer to roll thru. Good luck to those who are out this evening.

Yeah I will give it a shot as long as the rain stops. He's not a huge scoring rack. Might make P&Y. I was more impressed with his body size, very mature deer. He had 75 lbs on that 10 pt I saw in there.

Well miracles do happen! I found time to get out. Doing a run and gun tonight. I haven't hunted this spot in about 10yrs. Found tons of acorns and several rubs so I set up. See what happens. Only thing that stinks is I'm hunting private land.

I was hoping to shoot a doe but it is way too warm. Heck I'm battling skeeters now.

Public holds way more deer and a lot bigger bucks. Private land in my area gets over run with guys. Barely see anyone on public here. You could literally be the only one hunting a 10,000 acre piece of land.
