Drove almost 4 hours up north to hunt the middle zone before our season (south zone) opens this weekend and boy was it worth it!! 6 man of ducks in a couple hours. We shot mallards, wigeon, woodies, and some teal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Our season opens back up Saturday. Here's the weather forecast Thursday-Sunday. Thursday - Rain and 60 Friday - Rain/Snow and 39 and 25 mph wind Saturday - Rain/Snow and 37 and 25 mph wind Sunday - 40 and 25 mph wind Perfect duck weather but i'm not liking the wind. T0 be completely honest, I wish it was beautiful weather so we could be combining instead. Going to be a loooong fall..
You and me both. I told him if I shoot that bird when I’m up it’s going on the wall lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Going out scouting tonight from the road. Season opens back up tomorrow. Next day I’ll be able to hunt is Monday though. So hopefully it won’t be too bad with everyone back at work lol I also just bought my MI license. In a little over a week I’ll be heading up to hunt with JPT. Can’t wait for that! Overall all not a bad area. It was more open on the north end than what I was originally thinking. Still some good reeds and little coves I’ll need to check out on the boat. The south end is more timber it looks really good. And with the water so high I could get into some more spots than one normally couldnt. Only issues is there is no launch into the area. I would have cross the main portion of the Mississippi to get into this area. It can be done. It’s a straight shot but a smaller boat on the mighty Mississippi is always a little sketchy. Lol here is also a pic of the area I want to get to. There is a launch on the left hand side of the pic. North end Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good corn hole shoot this morning. 2 man of woodies and 1 man of teal. Could have easily been done with a full limit by 8 but I got greedy and wanted to fill the limit with greenhead. The only couple we saw weren't interested though. Heading back out tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
Shoulda done better this am. Set up wrong, they usually like to work in the same corner no matter the wind, but apparently with 30 mph gusts they start caring again. shot 3 woodies, 2 other groups did much better. B Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Nice mixed bag today. Too bad the boyfriends didn't come in with them. Couldn't find 1 mallard and 1 woodie. Saw maybe 10% of what I saw yesterday. Picture of part of the spread. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
That flooded corn looks awesome. I’ll be heading out tomorrow morning. This will be the first hunt out of the boat! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It was a awesome morning. Birds worked perfect, every group we shot at came in cupped up. Shot 8 total. Nice mixed bag. 3 woodies(2 drakes 1 hen) 2 green wing 2 wigeon (drake and a hen) 1 gadwall The drake wigeon is heading to the taxidermist today! It will be my first duck in the wall. Today was super slow. We were suppose to have stronger winds but it ended up being no wind. Managed to kill 2 birds. But it sucks when you have a ducky looking day and nothing wants to fly or work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ohhh quit complaining, some of us are stuck at work and not leaving for a week of hunting soon! BTW, i'm only slightly jealous...
Lmao. If it makes you feel better today was my last hunt of the week before I head to MI. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
