Wild looking. Maybe an antlered doe with the velvet being permanent. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Team, I will be out of pocket for the next couple weeks. Headed out on some missions. Will be back Nov some time. Wish you all the best of luck. Will let you know when I return and am back in stand!
Good luck! I’ll be headed down to a chunk of public land this weekend to do some scouting and find some stand locations. Was going to hunt also but the weather looks terrible. A few inches of rain and snow on the way. We’ll see. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
39 degrees with 20 mph winds was not exactly how I pictured my first hunt of the year but it felt good to be sitting in the stand. Main goal of this trip is to get cameras up and clear some shooting lanes. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I have only one decent buck. Will finally go after him Monday, Tuesday and next weekend. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Hey guys, been MIA on this thread for a while. Have finally been able to harvest so we've been working pretty hard on soybeans. Was wet and really windy this past weekend so wasn't able to do any combining but was way too windy for bow hunting so did some duck hunting instead. Going to get into the 60s this week so we'll be going full bore on harvest. Not sure when i'll make it to the stand.
Just shot two coons. Two does and fawn just came in and blew at the dead coons. I blew back at them. That stopped them from blowing more. Still hoping a buck will show. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Ok saw one more. Not sure what it was. Now have one blowing at me across the bayou. Wind changed. I'm done. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Ive been off hunting for 4 days since I fell in the woods and hurt my shin pretty bad, so today I decided to go to Illinois public hunting land and I felt like I couldnt bear the weight of my climber and back pack on the 1 1/2 mile hike so I decided to sit on the ground. I found a good spot against a huge oak and sat on a log next to it and enjoyed the afternoon. I didnt shower and got all sweaty walking in, and I smoke if I have the right winds and I did this afternoon, so I just hunt the wind. I had a small buck come by around 520pm and then a doe with 2 fawns came in. The doe was up hill from me at 10 yards with obstructions in the way, I waited till she turned away while feeding and I took one step out and when she returned and turned she was at 15 yards and I shot. My arrow hit its mark and she was down at around 80 yards after the shot, I could hear her crash. When I went to drag her out I had to walk in front of someones trail camera, so with the doe in one hand as I was dragging her out I stopped when I was in front of the trail camera and waved at the trail camera as I was dragging her out I was blessed to have a wonderful day in the woods and a wonderful husband who came with the deer cart to help me drag her out!!!!
