Hi fellas! Going to finally get in the game this week! I really need to sit in a tree awhile. Going to try one of my local spots that isn't flooded this weekend. Son and I are heading up to our WI property Monday. Wind and weather going to be perfect for there. Have 4 cameras on the property we haven't checked in 6 weeks! Hoping for the best! Good luck everybody!

I'm just checking in. I haven't been on the forum or out hunting for a couple weeks.

    Work has just been uncooperative.

I'm still here though and there is lots of hunting time left. I'll be back at it soon as possible.

Well Saturday night I was sitting in the tree and five does came up. I was lucky enough to hit two of them but there was absolutely no blood and no deer to be found

I had a doe at 25 yards last night on public land and that little stinker wouldn't turn and give me a shot at her vitals. Every time she would hit an opening her vitals were obstructed.

No luck Monday in Wisconsin. Broke my streak of 3 years in a row of getting a doe on my first sit if the year! Had a young doe at 10 yards but a bit too small. A big doe came in at 40 with about 5 minutes of shooting time left but couldn't get completely turned around in the tree for a shot. Did see some very good sign! Some great rubs and scrapes! Had over 2500 pics on 4 cams that had soaked for over 6 weeks! No monsters but numerous shooters! Headed back up next cold front. Going to hunt some local spots this week. Checking one of our better spots today to see if flood waters are down. Good luck to everyone!

Seeing lots of does and small bucks but no BIG Boys yet, I think it will get good around the 25th here so I am going to try and let it sit and get a tree job I have done before it gets good, got 1200 trees to plant.. Good Luck to everyone hunting..

This working crap sure is getting in the way of my hunting! I apologize for not being more active. I’ll be out all weekend with my little nephew. It’s youth rifle season here in Oklahoma and I’m gonna try and get him on some deer.

    I'm finally in a tree.

However, I'm on the ground in a cedar tree because my first two spots are being actively harvested right now.

And the elevation adjustment screw on my arrow rest came loose throwing my bow out of tune. So I'm using my crossbow.

But I'm out here, it's cool but not cold, quiet and the cedar smells good. I have nothing to complain about.

No luck this past weekend for youth rifle. Didn’t even see a deer. I’ll be out in the morning to try my luck.

Haven't been out for awhile. At the back end of the flu right now. Hopefully this week start to feel better. Next week starts my 2 week archery draw at a state park, 80 acres. I will be the first in the zone I drew. Did a one day scout of the area a few weeks ago. Maybe do another quick walk through the area Friday to look for some new sign. Is this a bad idea this close to hunting the area? With my kids weekend sporting schedules and limited vacation days, it will probably only be evening hunts after work. I am finally starting to get a few more mature bucks on the property I hunt now. One nice buck has come through around 6:30-7am, 4 of the last 7 days. The other buck comes around at dark on the other side of the property from across a pasture out of a big block of woods. Maybe 2 weeks or so out from the rut and one of them will make a mistake. Hope everyone to doing well and enjoying their season. Good luck. 20191021_181611.jpeg 20191021_181701.jpeg 20191021_181631.jpeg

Got a call at lunch today from the state park office about my archery draw I won. Lady explained they messed the whole process up and double booked my zone I picked. Because someone drawn ahead of me picked it first, they let him keep his zone and dates. In return for the mistake they offered me 2 weeks at the end of the season to hunt the entire state park (all 5 zones) by myself. About 400 acres. My new hunting dates are December 8th through December 21st. Not sure how I feel about that. My original dates were prime hunting for rut activity and I would have been the first in the zone. Now there will be 15 other hunters in there over the next 6 weeks. Good or bad thing, I don't know. Nothing I can really do about it now. Just thankful for the opportunity to have another place to hunt and will try to make the most of it.
