    I left home at 9:00 this morning and drove to Kentucky. My brother and I enter to look the new farm over.

    This place is incredible. The wood patches are s mix of Hickory and White Oak. Giant White Oaks.

    We were as careful as we could be but we still bumped 8 deer here and there. Two were bucks but neither were big boys.

    I'm set up in a small patch of woods on a point where two gulleys start coming together.

    I have a south wind and I mostly expect the deer to come from the south.

    I won't shoot a doe this afternoon. I want to see what happens.

    Just had a doe walk right thru were he was bedded. Didn't see any movement. The doe was at 20 yards. 5 more yards and she might have got it!

    He's at 20 yards for the last hour. He came to 18 yards and only needed 5 feet! I can't see him but I can hear him clearing his nose and cough once and awhile. He is so close!

    There were 5 in the group that came in. One of them was a big old trophy doe. Sure was hard not to shoot her when she walked away and gave me a 10 yard shot.

    She took a dump right under me and the one in the first pic peed while rubbing her legs together.

    Sometimes we forget how hard this stuff is and the skill it taked to even get in range of a deer. Especially hunting a place on day 1 like you...takes skill
