Congrats to the three that had bloody arrows last night! It was a good night for the thread! Adding to the deer (does) remembering what tree you were in. Several years ago I had a doe that absolutely hated me! She wouldn’t always blow but she would take the group of does and skirt me at 50 yards always keeping an eye on my tree. So one day after a morning hunt after this happening I put up a new stand 20 yards away and left the original stand in place. The next morning I slipped in the new stand and like clockwork here came the group of does and the lead doe fixated on the old tree stand. This time the whole group including the wise old bag as I called her. That morning didn’t end well for her.

And as for eye contact it, I believe it is a predator vs prey “6th” sense that deer can just feel. I try to never make eye contact with a deer, especially one that I intend to shoot.

Picture of said doe from the story above. Image1570536967.191153.jpg

What did she weigh? Speaking of big does, did anyone see the post on the BHOD FB page I believe last night?! That thing was a tank of a doe

I think they have a 6th sense. You ever get that feeling someones looking at you? Call me crazy but i think they can tell when we are staring them down.

I was always told it's the fact that it's symmetrical image with eyes that screams predator. I always close 1 eye when in a "show down"

You eastern guys need to take a tip from western hunters; learn the gutless method and the quarter and pack out the deer. I do this on any deer that is going to be more than a quarter mile to the vehicle. Way easier than dragging and a lot less messy.

Here in Maine you need to transport the entire deer to a registered tagging station and pay them to tag it. Cannot do gutless method.

Seen another fawn 5 yards away. Had at least 3 Tom turkeys out in front of me 45-55 yards. They didn't see me move. They stayed around for 5 minutes or so

Well didn’t have to worry about dragging anything out or quartering it. I didn’t see squat.

I’m not real sure I would have to put 165-175 range she was a big girl! This one I do know for sure was 186 Live weight, she was known as “Linebacker B****” and was another one of those that was impossible to kill until I went full ninja on her ass. Image1570546907.312991.jpg

I had an awesome sit this morning, other than me blowing everything out as I walked back into my spot. Saw 3 Tom turkeys. 4-6 fawns and a 4pt. 2 mature does. Only thing close enough were the fawns. The last 2 were BB twins I'm assuming IMG_20191008_103318053.jpg IMG_20191008_103318053.jpg IMG_20191008_101934481.jpg
