Congrats Joel, she'll eat great! Way to get us going.
Zack, that's tough man. It happens to all of us and you have a full season left so don't let it get you too down.
I'm home for 4 days this weekend and Ill dam sure be in the tree for all 8 hunts. Good luck boys.

Dang Zach that really stinks. Do you have a lot of predators in your area? I had a complete hog devoured in just a few hours last year by coyotes. I put a camera on the bones and hide that was left in the morning and within 20 hrs of me shooting it there was no evidence of anything ever being killed there. Absolutely nothing left.

That's what I thought too, never seen one look like that and not have the deer laying within 60yds.

We do have a decent yote pack and I've got pics of a black bear twice this year but clear on the other side of the farm and he'd almost have to go through a wide open field at some point or go right by the road to get to where I shot the doe. Idk what happened. The way the arrow looked there should have been blood just slinging out of her but I couldn't find a drop outside the spot she was standing when I hit her...

I've found that high lung shots can leave an arrow covered in blood but leave a crappy blood trail at first.

She is all butchered, trimmed, and vac sealed. Lots of work but always worth it in the end.
