This was my best hunt in quite some time! I ended up seeing 10 does from the woodshed. The wind was in my face, but thermals must have been blowing their way because at least one doe in each group had me pegged. I set up a new blind right next to the shed, so hopefully I can draw on these does next week. 16 yards to their field entrance.
There was what appeared to be a fawn under my stand when I was on my way in tonight. All I saw was a small rear end and a tail walking away. I’m not real confident I’ll see anything tonight. Haven’t had bucks on camera since early September... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same here. All small bucks on 3 cameras. Depressing. I was all showered and ready to go at 3 but failed to go. Lack of sleep just has gotten to me. Good luck out there
So all in all 3 bucks tonight. Grabbed a card on the way out and a nice buck continues to show up. He is not in my top three this year but I will take him for points if possible.
Big goose egg for me tonight boys. I’ve got a plan for the weekend so I might skip hunting this week and wait for Saturday morning when it’s a good wind and 33 at sunrise! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like to look at the barometric pressure and use that to kind of help me judge if the wind prediction will be accurate or not. Tonight was supposed to be a west wind and ended up coming straight out of the south when the pressure dropped. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah that’s another reason I didn’t go tonight. Besides lack of sleep the wind changed for the worst for me. I’m thinking of taking Monday off work but don’t want to burn myself out this early.
I’m not going to be kicking myself either if I don’t hunt too hard early either. I’ve got a lot on my plate and don’t need to booger up any of my spots before it gets good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The forecast is shaping up to be a deer killing weekend we can only hope it’s a good one! I’d love to get us 50 points next weekend Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
congrats CT! you guys are putting the pressure on to start whacking does. looks like i'm falling for the bait.
Good work men! Love the does. The frosty mornings here are killing me. Some of my buddies at home have already killed great bucks, and I am jealous. Concrete is being poured out here at my huge DIA Expansion project and I am insanely busy with that, but finding time for some trips to cool places.
