I've been around a little. Just busy taking care of the ranch, spraying crops, mowing (bushhogging) and taking care of my new sheep and guard dogs. I'm rotational grazing sheep over serecia and sprout infested pasture so I move them and their fencing every other day on a farm three miles from my house so I've been spending a lot of time there lately.
I honestly don't mind him asking.. doesn't bother me.. seems ridiculous if people actually donate, but that's on them.
Doesn’t bother me that he asks. I’m not going to donate. Maybe someone will. It’s your money to spend how you want to. This guy obviously hasn’t been raised very well imo. His old man should have told him to get off his ass and do some odd jobs and ends to make some extra bucks for toys. When I want some extra $$$ I go work more. Not ask for a hand out. Or I handle a credit card responsibly and pay it off quickly.
There is also the rare chance this person may have a terminal illness that is limiting him on time and the ability to work for money. But that needs to be pointed out before “I want money for hunting”. I’d donate to a young man/woman dying from cancer or some other illness to go on a trophy hunt. I donated for a girl to travel to Hawaii, Europe, and Africa. She was 21 when she found out she wasn’t going to live past about 30.
Someone in my area a few years back had several fundraisers to "help" with her medical bills - fighting cancer. Turns out she never had cancer.
People beg for money all the time. Give or dont. Sometime you can smell the scam yet people give. Look at that kid from university of Iowa asking for beer money. He got a crap ton of money and then turned around and donated to childrens hospital. Last i heard nearly 2 million was donated or pledged to that hospital. Sometime begging turns out well. Not that i would donate to this guy. Sent from my RS501 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
A few years ago, I drew wolf tag for MN. I had killed a bow buck so was done for the year. Knew I was gonna be gone to hunt for a wolf and thought it would be a nice gesture to allow 2 ( wounded) vets to hunt my land. Cabin included. Posted it on Craigslist a few weeks ahead of time ( muzzleloader). Had several good folks respond to help cook/ drag. Not ONE single response to hunt. This add reached over 200,000 people.
