I have a little less than 3 hours to go at work, 35 mins home, 10 minutes to my tree, 5 to set up, then it's wait and hope. A day like this is what I've been looking forward to since Jan. 15. High 80's yesterday, 60 today, cloudy with a North wind. And they expect me to focus on work.

Just made it down to my lease. I’ll be at it for 3 hours today and all of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning.
Good conditions with a different wind direction every day. I’m already losing my mind just deciding where to go.
But, I can’t believe it’s finally here! Good luck out there!

I've been waiting for today because he temps were supposed to drop considerably.

Well, they did drop but only a few degrees so far. The heat index is still 91 right now.

I'm still going to go out at 4:00 and see if the moon being overhead from 5:30 to 6:00 has any impact on movement.

It's supposed to be 53 degrees in the morning and tomorrow's high is supposed to be in the 70's. That'll be a nice change. I'm absolutely sick of sitting in a sauna in he afternoons.

Good luck to everyone out this afternoon! Still have a week before I can get in the tree. I'm ready for that first sit!

Just got in. Don't have really hi hopes for this spot but it's very intrusive and the wind should be good. Just good to be back in a tree

Knock out a couple of teeth and marry your cousin and you'd fit right in here in the Ozarks.

Back on stand. I checked my camera coming in and there have been no daylight pics since the last check.

That doesn't mean they're not coming through. It just means they aren't walking in front of the camera.

I'm hoping the temperature drop will get them moving during daylight a little better.

Our season opened October 1....and I am trying to catch up on 100 pages of posts! Good to see killing by VT and LC along with others. My first time out is more of a watch from a distance...but you never know. I need to shoot several does off this property- farmers request. If the guy that made these rubs comes by, he may die. I'm in the tree right by the rubs. I pray for safety and serenity for all of us.

    PS...don't be a Mike. 20191003_171946.jpg

I thought it was going to be hot and nasty out here, but it’s beautiful.
Clouds with a steady NW wind.
I’m in a corner of a crp field.
It’s shaded and secluded, and delicious critters often pop out here at the end of the day.

Somebody kill tonight! Family obligations are going to have me missing this cold front. I expect those of you hunting to step up and spill some blood for me.

First sit of the year, had a spike/forky pin me down. 7 yards, he circled me, went down wind, then I had something blowing up wind of me. I barely got up in the tree. Two hours later I’m set up

Deer should die tonight. On my way home from work and there are deer in almost every field. Not seeing any with antlers but they are up and moving. Good luck to all, I'm headed to Michigan public land in the morning
