Dad missed a big moose Monday morning, he hasnt seen another since then.. Moose hunting been slow, seen 8 on Monday with two small bull. Yesterday seen only one small bull however we were busy with the Bou all morning packing him out. Today I seen 7 moose, two small bulls. One small bull has been killed in camp so far. Still three empty tags.
It's pretty good one, should make Pope and young easy enough. The area I am in is short on caribou so I wasn't passing him up. They have only seen two caribou bulls in the near by area...in three weeks. I am thrilled to say the least.
Kinda pissed right now. Wind has been n.e. all day and was supposed to be all night also. Been waiting on that direction to bear hunt a remote cornfield. Cooked up a lb of bacon just for the grease a bit ago.went along the edge for 1/4 mile putting it on grass to try and lure something out. Also have a honey burn going about 200 yards away. Plan was to sit on a high bank and if something broke cover, beat my ass down a mowed dike road and hope to get a shot. Just watched a white plume come off the burn.. Wind turned straight south blowing across a wide open soybean field. God don't seem to like what I plan?. Hour drive and a lb of bacon for nuttn
Finally getting a break in the temps this weekend . Planning on taking my 11 year old daughter out with her crossbow Saturday evening. Shes after her first deer, hopefully they cooperate.

Getting on the plane to Maine here in a bit. Forecast shows much cooler temps right after I get back so I expect to finally get in a stand next weekend.
