Well I couldn't resist I'm up a tree. One last shot at the urban zone before I hit the farm for the first hunt this year. Today is the offical start of archery season in WV but I'm on call this weekend. Probly for the best anyways because next weekend is gonna bring some damn awesome weather so my first hunt at the farm this season should be a pretty great one! I'm gonna put in a few more hours this morning and then go make my rounds at work. I may just come back this evening depending on how life goes today...(the wife has other plans for this evening so no reason to sit at home alone )[IMG]

Haha I've been trying! I'm going back in for my first evening sit since the first weekend. Hopefully I get a shot at some does at least, I still need to fill up my cabin jerky tub.

Whew that was a sweaty entrance. Bumped a doe coming down the trail to my tree. She waited until I was about 10 yards away and jumped up and trotted off. No snorts though so hopefully that'll keep the rest of them around. Warmed up pretty good after a little rain shower this afternoon so hopefully they'll be up and moving right before dark.

Congrats Joel! Way to slick a doe and get some points rolling for us.

Sorry I’ve been inactive guys. It’s still fishing season for me and I have a yearly duck hunting trip coming up next week. I don’t usually bow hunt or get into the bow hunting mode until after. I’ll be around a lot more after the duck decoys go away for the year here in a couple weeks.
Just finished getting some new batteries in the cameras to get through the rest of the season and my buddy is anxious to slick a doe so we are going into a ground blind over a water hole. Deer have been hitting it daily but it’s 83 and humid as hell so we will see what happens. I will just be filming tonight.

Got my buddy his first whitetail with a bow tonight. She’s going to taste delicious!

Pretty cool to hear his breathing get excited as he was getting ready to draw back. He’s lived in Colorado his whole life slicking elk with the stick and string and is quite the elk hunter. He moved up here due to work and was excited to start bow hunting for deer. I was nervous that after spending his life chasing elk on a mountain and having shot so many nice bulls that his heart wouldn’t race when that first deer stepped out in range. That wasn’t the case, he’s on cloud 9. That’s it for me deer hunting wise until after I come back from my duck trip. Stay after it boys!

Thanks everyone! Let’s keep the arrows flying now. Gotta make a run at that title.

I'll be at the farm in less than 48 hours! Got some **** to do Friday morning but it's gonna be niiiice. High of 70 Friday and 47° Friday night! That's much closer to what I'm looking forward to. Gonna jump back to 80 Saturday but still cool at night. Hopefully it takes another dip next weekend when I start my first week of vacation.

I'm going to take an unplanned trip to Kansas this weekend to check cameras and hang stands. It's been raining there and will continue to rain through Saturday but I should be able to get to all my set-ups with a 4 wheeler. Season is open and I may hunt a bit, just depends on the rain. Looking forward to seeing some pics of deer out of velvet to get a good look at what's running around there. :)
