I think it's time to upgrade my knife for gutting.
    Anyone have a good reccomendation?
Price isn't too much of a factor. I'll pay for quality.

I like that razor edge compared to the Havalon. Seems more durable.

I have a 4" rapala fillet knife that has gutted many deer and a bear and fish as well as birds all depends what you like.

I'm far from picky. Just a good fixed blade that hold an edge well.

I switched last year to the RAZORPRO SAW COMBO and enjoy it. I stink at sharpening knives...even with good knife sharpeners.

For whitetail hunting I carry a Case XX brand, 3 inch fixed-blade, with stacked leather grip. The stacked leather grip does not get slippery when covered in blood or fat (gloved or ungloved hands), and the blade is sturdy, and rather skinny for it’s length, which makes cleaning the pelvic area much more convenient compared to a wider bladed knife, more commonly viewed as a “hunting knife” today. They make a 5 inch blade model as well if you like bigger. Mine, in particular was made in 1979 (same year I was born and was a gift). I can field dress, skin and debone an entire north woods sized (Wisconsin) whitetail without needing more than a touch up to resharpen. Can’t speak to the steel quality of a new similar model, but the same pattern is available to this day. I use a Lansky’s sharpening tool (“blade clamp” and multiple grade sharpening “stones on shafts” style) to resharpen after processing a deer. My blade is carried in the field in a leather sheath on my belt, and is “shave hair off the back of your arm sharp” to begin with. This blade was used for nearly all my whitetails in 28 years of hunting. My knife is something I take pride in, and is something I consider as part of my necessary personal effects for going afield in pursuit of whitetails.

I have the outdoor edge swing blade I believe its called. Its a straight blade and gutting hook in one package. I love it. I just used a Havalon that my buddy had on a waterfowl trip and that thing was really nice as well. Now I see that outdoor edge link Slickbilly posted and I am 55 dollars poorer. It looks like an exact combo of the Havalon I just used and my swing blade. Amazon has it for 55 dollars without the saw.
