I was out this morning for a few hours. Had a doe and fawn at 30 yards, but she was on edgeand very alert. Decided not to take the shot due to her being so jumpy. I probably won't get out again until thursday morning.
No luck tonight saw a doe with her twins. We had a great time together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
My brother and I went out this afternoon and just saw squirrels. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'll probably buy my permits this weekend. Not sure when I will make it out for the first time yet, but if I get that itch at least I can act accordingly having tags in hand already. Give me a good cool morning on a day off.... could be that spontaneous of a choice. I'd like to get out by 2nd or 3rd week of October regardless. Be nicd to see what I am getting into come November.
Starting this afternoon I'll be hunting hard for the next few days. Setting up at noon for a park hunt that starts tomorrow, then heading for an afternoon sit. Tomorrow through Sunday I'll be in the park so long as the weather cooperates.
Good luck! It is nice that you can shoot bucks or does in the 1st hunt instead of just does. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Sat dark to dark today, no deer. Sounded like it was slow for everyone throughout the park. Back at it in the AM.
Another zero this morning. Nice and crisp day though. Had one around me as I sat in the dark, but once shooting light came it was gone.
Went out yesterday afternoon and hunted a creek crossing where I had run a trail cam in 2017 and 2018. There is one buck that I got pics of both years and figured if he was still alive he would be at least a 4.5 yr old. He won't score much and is just a six, but would love to have an encounter with him due to having the history of him. Didn't end up seeing anything but I will hunt that spot again in the near future. Here are the pics of that buck in 2017 and 2018. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Here are some other bucks that have used that crossing. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well not much goin on here except waiting till the 1st ha. We chopped some silage on the farm I hunt Friday but still have awhile before anything else is gonna be close to ready. My buddy who owns the farm was out checking flood gaps in the creek few days ago tho and said he spotted the 2 bigger bucks I've had pics of bedded down near there. So that was kind of encouraging that they may stick around at least for early season. It's rained basically all weekend so hoping that cools the temps. Idk what this week is gonna bring work wise but I might be able to slip in a afternoon sit. If not my first time in tree will be next weekend Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Went out this evening to basically scout a property. Did see 8 does/fawns but they were on the part of the property that wasn't open to the public. Probably won't go back there again until maybe during the rut. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Struck out in the park again. Have a pretty good spot but just not seeing animals. Gonna have to go back to the drawing board for the second session in late October.
