Good luck Max. I’m hoping more dry nights and chances come soon. Watching my yard turn into a swimming pool now. Hopefully something comes your way tonight

Good luck this afternoon. You out in that WMA by the beans? I'm out in my usual county park by the corn and a brook.

Same wma but I'm sitting by water tonight. It's pretty warm so I figured they might stop for a drink. It's a mile and a half hike in to the tip of this little peninsula that just out into the lake and they're bedding with their back to the water. I slipped in about 150 yards south of them and hung my stand.[IMG]

Sycamore that’s always how I always schedule my last bit of prep work, the good ole 15 day forecast. I just washed all of my gear and my wife’s gear last night! Now they’re hanging on the back deck for a couple days and on Friday they’ll go in the scent crushed bag and tote and if all goes as planned they’ll come back out on the evening of the first!

Congrats on the second doe Vermont!

I’ll be staying out of the woods until I check cameras on either the 27th or 28th to get a game plan together to see if I’ve got a decent buck to chase or if I’ll be targeting a doe or two.

I’m not sure how good my outfiiter hunt will be in Indiana on Oct. 18-20 given the time of the year... But these are a few photos from the outfitters property that we will be after. It’s really more about our clients and professionals relationships - so it will be difficult to get it done in this short amount of time.

Two things in our favor - lack of pressure. They typically don’t open the outfitter property until Nov. think we will be the first group out this year.

Food plots - these guys have a lot of food sources that I think will have bucks still on somewhat of a patter given that time of year.

What outfitter is you don’t mind me asking? There’s some spammers in there!

I will send you a DM on it... I'd rather not make that information public.

Here's some of my bucks on camera here in Ohio. I would love to kill one of those funky bucks. Congrats on the doe patrol in Vermont!

So I wasn’t going to share this picture just because it’s not from one of my cameras. But this deer is from a farm that neighbors a new property that I picked up this summer. I’m a little excited to even know of a deer like this in my area. It’s a very low pressure farm next door so I’m hoping he sticks around and happens to stroll past one of my stands while I’m in it. Lots of pics of awesome bucks. Hoping to see you guys connect with them. Would be tough to compete with a few racks like that

In Indiana most people are hunting parcels between 50-100 acres max so you’re monitoring neighboring parcels of land as much as your own. If I see a buck within a certain distance I’m immediately just assuming my property is in play for that buck at some point and how would he make it happen?!

So good luck - that buck is as good as yours as far as I’m concerned... lol

I think that he will definitely make the mistake of coming by one of my stands but it’s just a matter of when and if I’m there. My small property sets up perfect with the neighbors property for cruising. It was logged 4 years ago and is thicker then snot now with one logging trail straight up the middle and buffer strips where they did not log on the edges which set up as good transition areas. If he makes the fatal mistake I think it will be this stand, I set it up for our predominant W-NW wind for the deer to cruise the downwind side of the neighboring swamp, the stand is set right at the junction on the very edge of a ridge where there is a down tree and cut tops that will funnel the deer right past the stand. As be said before it’s not a huge property but it is the right property. Image1568887723.643393.jpg

Nothing yet for me. However I just got word from a family friend that they're going to let me bowhunt their 620 acre farm in upstate New York. No ones hunted the property in 25 years and I've seen some very big deer there so I'm hoping it's a safe haven from the neighboring properties and itll be as good as I'm expecting. Just need to get my New York license and their season opens October 1st. Only about an hour and half from me so should be pretty accessible

That sounds awesome Max. Have any cams there or every shed hunt it? That’s a solid piece and no hunting in that long should be real interesting what it holds
