Thanks. Even though the season started, I won't be hunting for another couple of weeks. Too much going on for me to hit the woods at the moment.

Back at it for sit number three. High pressure and around 55. I seen a doe in my aunts back yard on the four wheeler drive in I thought about stalking her but was already a little late to getting in the stand so just went to my stand instead.

Sorry been busy working on my house this weekend. But anyway i went out after work for a quick two hour sit and got in the stand around 5:00pm my shooting light went till about 7:20pm. I sat for about 45 minutes to and hour and a tiny fork horn came out into my food plot. Planted some clover and some more fall winter mixes and the deer have been liking it it seems any way. So I watched the little buck eat for about 20-30 minutes and then it started looking into the woods where it came from. So I was thinking it’s more deer coming it’s either some does or a bigger buck coming well after a minute or two three does walked out into my food plot. I grabbed my bow and turned on the camera and watched them all feed for 5-10 minutes waiting for a clear shot at the biggest one. Finally it walked into my opening at 23 yards I got the camera on her drew my bow and waited till she was calm and eating and released the arrow. The shot was high so it spined her and she dropped in her tracks. So I grabbed another arrow and finished her off as quick as I could. She was the biggest doe I’ve ever shot. A little over 120 pounds field dressed.

The county you hunt in Illinois isn’t that far from me. My family has a house in Hillview Illinois and we have leases in Greene and Scott counties. I’m excited for this year I’m hoping we will get some big deer down this year.

I completely understand being busy. I work 3rd shift in LE and have 2 young ones, my life is a non stop whirlwind. Hunting is my therapy and I’m excited to get this season kicked off. First time in over 10 years I’m gonna have of from 11/3–11/12, I can’t wait. Used to hunt private In Fulton Co but lost it. Now Hunt a small tract in Mason Co and Local Public land.

Season started today here. Sat this morning and it was slow. This evening was different, saw around 15 deer (1 buck) but no shots were offered.

    The marathon has begun.
