Awesome doe copperhead. I went to the doc today and was green lighted to shoot my bow! Not sure I’ll be able to yet will try tomorrow. Went to the property today and did some last minute food plot rescue. Something tore up my corn plot the last few weeks so I went in and mowed a big section in the middle (1/4 acre ish) and bought some throw n grow with oats and some antler king rape seed and spread it out to see if I can some more winter forage. The brassicas on the outside look great so I’ll have a ring of brassicas on the outside with corn and oats clover brassica rape and rye in the center. We shall see.

Checked cameras because I ended up doing more work and got another picture of the young 10. I hope he makes it I won’t shoot him. And a 8 that showed up that from this picture may be one I’d shoot. I’m starting to get excited now.

I had a young 10 last year that looked just like that one. I passed him 3 times. I'm hoping he comes back this year.

Congrats on the doe!!! By the looks of the trail cam pics, we have a chance at an awesome team score. Good luck to everyone.

Went to the shop today so I could turn my bow all the way down to 55 lbs. made a world of difference than 70 and I can shoot at that weight. Unfortunately the new arrows I bought this spring are no good that low at 300 spine so I had to buy some new ones. Carbon express maxima red 350’s. They shoot great and I got some good muzzy one broadheads. He let me shoot those into a target at 15 yards in his shop and they hit perfect so should be good to go. I’m hoping to turn it up to 60 by October and leave it there but even if I don’t with this set up I should be deadly. They fly beautifully.

55 is fine. I killed this guy with my 60# Pearson turned down to 55 coming off of rotator cuff surgery. Clean pass through. [IMG]

Btw, I got the 17HP motor out of the Craftsman mower and mounted it on the Swisher. The 17 OHV mounted right up in the same holes as the old flathead 10.5. Ordered up some parts to rig up the electric start. The only things I'm going to steal from the Craftsman are the motor and the battery. That way I can get it all back together at some point when I find another suitable motor. [IMG]

I always thought carbon express spine was opposite so those would be like 250s in black eagle? Either way if they're shooting straight thats all that matters! Awesome that you got set up and can hunt man! I wouldn't make it with having to miss a season lol

Honestly don’t know, but they tore perfect and flew perfect and the tech said even if I turn it all the way back to 70 they will still fly. Now if only I had the sleeves for my nocturnals I bought for the last arrows to fit lol

Hey man whatever works for sure. Firm believer in that haha. Also got ya some more weight out of those im sure so that never hurts either. I use to shoot the reds before I went to black eagle myself. Mainly just money reasons lol

Great news on the clearance by the doctor. I love a mix of oats, rye and brassicas for the fall. Should do you good.

Waiting weeks suck. I was laid off the majority of the 2nd half of 2018. It sure is nice once you've got that waiting week in though lol.

I’m not gonna return to work until November 4 so that should equal plenty of time in the woods. I think I’m gona stick to ground hunting on the public though as there is no way I can do my hang and hunt work I need to so I think it’s off the table this year. So that will be a new adventure.

Same here Tony. Last year I hunted pretty much every day. This year I'll only be able to hunt mornings until the weekends.

As a pastor in a rural community I pretty much get to set my hours (unless someone is sick or in the hospital and needs me NOW!) So I hunt most mornings and get into the office by 9. Sometimes do the same in the evening as I can get out by 5:30 and still beat the deer before they start moving before sunset.
