Figured I would start a thread for pa guys. I didn’t want to cram up the LFTS thread. Any one else here from the Lancaster area?

Gettysburg area myself. Hunt Maryland, local, and also have 3000 acres of private land up above Williamsport as part of our hunting camp

How’s the hunting in WILLIAMSPORT. Been through there on my way to potter many times but never stopped. With 3000 definitely gives you some options

It’s very very good actually, big buck haven. The public lands are bouncing back from what I hear, but yeah the private is nice. Gets very light hunting pressure during bow season, then they put on drives during bear/rifle. Lots of thick laurel and clearcuts so the smart old bucks grow pretty big. Makes for some fun hunting.

This is my best one to date so far this year. Hoping I get him before the Amish neighbors do

Very nice!!!! I figured there would be lots of thick laurel there. Great for bears to hang out also.

I'm up toward Wilkes-Barre area. Excited to get the season started. Always chasing big bucks on game lands. Very few harder things in the deer hunting world to accomplish!

My son is a freshman at Robert Morris this year. The few times we were out for orientations and such I thought how good it looked in the area. He plays golf for the school and their home course is Montour country club and man would that be a great place to get permission to hunt. Drive the course one time on a tour and it looked like amazing whitetail habitat. We did see a handful of does munching on the nice green grass

There are some very big bucks around that area, I have a few spots I hunt out that way. If your ever out that way during the season I can put you in a stand

I hunt about 20 minutes from Scranton, the deer are almost as nasty as the people :)
I've got a couple nice 8 points on camera this year. They are the nicest bucks I've seen in a while, pretty excited!

Few deer make it past 2 years old. There can be some great deer on private land. Plenty of farmland nearby for the deer to grow old on, but getting permission is tough imo. Public land is hit relatively lightly during the archery season. But its a full on warzone on opening day. Typical for the state though.

Dead central PA here. Just a little SW of State College. Lots of farms! Unfortunately, we're right in the developing CWD disaster area. I've not seen or heard of any confirmed cases in the immediate area, but we've recently been incorporated into the "quarantined" section.

I went to Lycoming College in Williamsport, graduated in 2010. Unfortunately, I didn't start bowhunting until my mid-20's. I look back on it now and I regret all of the opportunity I wasted, not bowhunting all of that public land not far from town.

That’s a bummer I know some other guys that are dealing with that also. Glad it’s not around here yet.

Kinda the same deal where I hunt. It’s private ground but surrounded by Amish farms where they will shoot pretty much anything. I generally don’t see too many big bucks on piece of ground I hunt. There are some in the area but generally on the larger chunks of private where they just stay.
