They are just ripening now, vines are loaded! The size of globe grapes and all the great flavor of ripe kiwi without the peeling. Deer and raccoon love them.

What state do you live in that you can grow kiwi? I thought they were a tropical fruit.

The hills of the finger lakes NYS. They are a hardy vine type need a male and female vine and each vine can produce up to a 100#,s That is not an over estimate.
We often see at least a few -15 to - 20 degrees in the winter.

I started growing them before they became popular. This was before the hybrids came out, less years to production and some are now self pollinating. They have red ones also. Mine took 7 full years of growth before I got fruit. Im a patient person now they have been fruiting heavy for many years. Fast growing vines that need lots of pruning.

About the same, the skins are smooth tender and not bitter the fruit has to be soft to eat. They store a long time in frig and you need to let them sit at room temp to soften. I prefer them off the vine to eat fresh. In fact just had some for lunch. 2x's the C than oranges. Google hardy kiwi or check you tube. Lots of info and recipes
