I posted a doe on the score thread tonight. She came in feeding on crabapples and gave me a 22yd broadside shot. I xx-lunged her and heard her crash <50 yds away.

Good job guys! Key to winning is several decent bucks and a bunch of does!

I am not able to hunt at the moment, had ACL surgery end of June. I have an 7 day hunt in Kansas in November. We hunt a few spots of public and private. That will be a bulk of my hunting for the season. I hunt around my house in Maine a little.

You've shot some nice bucks in Kansas over the years. Looking forward to seeing how you do.

You guys are giving me the itch! I leave next week for my annual bear hunt up at my buddies up North in NH. It has been a bit of trial and error for us the last few years getting the knack of baiting and hunting them. Last year was the first year my buddy and I both filled tags on a pair of nice bears. We have noticed from our experience so far that we have a great year then the following year is slow and that cycle has continued, but we'll see how it goes this year. The bait sites have been slow so far, there is so much food available in the woods that they aren't hitting bait sites at all, been hearing ti from many people in the area as well. SO many berries, corn in the area hasn't been cut and apples are falling, but we finally had our first bear hit the site last weekend (date on cam is not correct), so because of that I will stay optimistic! When I return from up north, I will be in full swing for deer season!

i have had both knees / ACL's in different years, i know your pain. Good luck Don with the recovery, work hard to get back out there.

how far are you along the rehab with the ACL?

took about 9 months before the DR. would let me go back to work, first one was a year recovery but now a days its a fast track to get you back to moving around
