I shoot a 3D target and a round target with foam inside. I notice that my target points loosen after a couple of shots. I now shoot carbon arrows. With my old aluminum arrows, it was nothing to put a drop of epoxy on the threads. Heating the target point and insert would break the epoxy if I ever needed to remove them. What do you folks use to keep the points tight in a carbon arrow?
I use to use some small plastic washers to keep mine in place. But I only use broadheads to practice now so I don't have an issue. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I don't use anything. But every time I pull my arrows out of my target, I check to make sure they aren't loose when I walk back to where I'm shooting. Although I do like the string wax idea so might try that just to help a little.
So, how do you remove them? Need heat? I do have a good supply of the carbon arrows. Some for practice and some for hunting. Thanks to all! BTW, where in NY? Upstate somewhere? Used to live in Queens back in the early 60s.
Blue loktight is removable. A little twist with pliers breaks it and your good to go to put another head on. I live a little south or Albany
If I snug them with pliers they rarely come loose, nothing added to the threads. When shooting a 3D shoot I make sure I have a multi-tool in my belt quiver so I can change one if I damage it somehow.
