No matter the temperature it's hard to beat a sunset in the woods though Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Brought a 32oz Gatorade in my bag and left one in the cooler in the car so I'll have a frosty one when I get done. It's definitely dripping hot. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Not much to report on that sit. Other than the stupid heat it was a pretty peaceful trip to the park. Think I may try to get in one more morning hunt at that location Sunday AM and then pack it in and move on, not really getting the movement I thought I would at that spot. I would be out no matter weather heat or cold lol last year we had small ice storm and walking in in morning playing dodge the falling tree limbs. Lol saw two bucks and two does that day
Good luck Joel! I'm ready to go for the morning hunt. Gonna try some public land maybe. Idk. It's so tempting to hunt my private land spot but I'm just not getting deer around my stands that work for a south wind. I'll figure it out. Lol. Gonna be hot and im still not over this damn cold. I am SO homesick lol. Not in a bad way (I'm fine and everything), but I miss my dogs, my parents, my pro shop, my bow, my car, everything. It's funny how perspective just happens sometimes. A year ago, all I wanted to do was get out on my own. I thought I could handle anything. Don't get me wrong I love it here. But now I'm crossing off the days until I get to go see everything that I not long ago thought I was ready to move on from. I'm deer-pressed. I want fall weather, big bucks, and my home haha
I feel bad for you. I learned a long time ago, there’s no place like home! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Know exactly how you feel buddy. I couldn't wait to leave my hometown when I was in high school. Left for college made it a year and a half and dropped out to come back. I wouldn't leave now for anything. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Back in the tree fellas and I am feelin it this morning! This is the morning we get 50pts on the board! Full moon last night, it's 52° right at first light compared to high 60s Friday night. Also went out to the farm last night to get a few things done around the main house so I went ahead and checked cameras. Saw 4 different does and a little 6pt buck making my rounds. Looks like I have a few decent deer stopping through the last couple weeks, a bear and at least one buck that I think is gonna be gorgeous if he makes it another two years. I think my food plot looks to be coming pretty nice as well! This is my first attempt at actually working one. Last year I did a little throw n grow but I was trash so I decided to try and do the work this year and so far I think I didn't do half bad but the real test will be the next month and half. 3 more weeks and I'll hunting the farm, until then this urban hunting is scratching the itch. Finally! First hunt of the season. It's hot, a strap on my stand malfunctioned first thing, I'm out of practice and still sick as crap. But I'm hunting! Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well I didn't have any luck this morning but my hunting partner laid a spike buck down. Came in around 730 with a decent looking 6pt in tow. The 6 backed out behind some trees but the spike just hung around. I thought my buddy was gonna let him walk and I was in the middle of trying to get turned around for a right handed shot when I saw an arrow plug him in the ribs lol. No reason to pass on a gimme on this urban hunt with 7 free tags in your pocket. About 150yd track job later and I was walking back for the drag sled. So still no deer in the books for me yet this year but I did get some jerky meat in the fridge, not bad for a gorgeous Sunday morning. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Well, I sat for opening weekend which I dont normally do. It was looking like a total bust until the last 45 mins, I had 20+ does filter into the soybean field I was hunting, the closest deer came in at 28yrds and was only there for a second. I also laid eye's on my target buck but he was 75+yrds away the whole time. All of the deer filtered out of the field to the east toward a corn field. On Sunday evening I decided to get aggressive and I sat in a drainage ditch that would give me a 20yrd shot at that buck if the deer did the same thing they did on Saturday. The plan was going great until 3 does came up from behind me and busted me. My target buck was not in the field this time but there a 100" 8 pointer and 9 does. I wont be back in a tree for 3 weeks now, should be enough time to let everything settle down again. I felt great to be back in a tree. Let get some deer on the ground boy's
It's so hot here. Last night I sat at a spot where I normally see something. Nothing moved. I drove by a ton of public land yesterday also and found a spot of public that borders a huge bean field that I really liked. Access is easy and I think I might hit it if it will cool down. It is also super close to some buck beds I scouted this spring, just a different approach direction. Could be awesome. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
